They did the doppler for me every 45 minutes every other hour if that makes sense. I was allowed to continue being in whatever position I wanted ( they didn't make me lay down on the bed) but they did tell me to stop moving (i pelvic rocked and spiraled my way through labor) I hated it.

I had a wireless monitor strapped to my stomach, didn't bother me at all.

My hospital is/was very anti-intervention, BUT, if required, they will do whatever they need to do to monitor the progress. It's important to know if the baby is in distress, so at some point, you might need to let them do their thing.

When I ended up in L&D for an emergency, I had 2 monitors on my belly. They didn't bother me. They left it on for the full 4 or 5 hours I was sitting there.

I had one strapped to my belly periodically. I think it was 15 min/hour at <6-7 cm and then 15 min every half hour once I progressed passed that. Then once I got the epidural it just stayed on.

I had one strapped to my belly. Didn't bother me at all. But I had an epidural so I had things attached to me all over the place.

Did you have a monitor strapped to your belly? or an internal monitor or did they just check on the baby periodically? I'm just curious to know whats the norm. I dont want to have anything strapped to my belly if it can be avoided, and would like to not have the internal one as well.
