Our 75 lb greyhound is a big chicken... she is scared of everything including the doorbell. Ugh! When we have guests, she runs and hides in the corner, and cowers. But when it's just us at home, she is a total lazy ass, but has bursts of energy when she can be super adorable!

Our two golden retrievers have VERY different personalities.

One, the girl who's 2 going on 3, is the mushiest dog you will ever meet. She's super sweet and extremely well-behaved, minus the constant whining anytime she's separated from us in the house. She likes to go on walks and play, but she isn't full of energy like other golden retrievers I've had -- she's very happy to lay around. She was the first puppy my husband and I raised ourselves (we both grew up with dogs though), and she's the easiest dog we've ever been around.

The other is a very affectionate holy terror. He's 1. He is still good with obedience for the most part, but is MUCH more headstrong than our girl. He tries to sneak food, he puts his paws up on the counter when he thinks we aren't looking, he jumps on people despite training. He is goofy and friendly, just WAY too exuberant. I'm hoping he grows out of it, he's still a puppy. Just a really big one now ;)

The funny thing is, they get along wonderfully -- and the boy doesn't dominate the girl all the time. Sometimes she wrestles him and takes him down, despite being smaller. They are a great pair.

Our dog acts like a total spoiled brat! My mom "adopted" me and the hubby's dog and treats him like a baby for real!! He's totally spoiled rotten. She made my dad add an addition to our house (the sun room) to make it HIS room. We have a lazy boy that has HIS blanket it on it so only HE can sit/lay there. He eats better than I do. My parents feed him whatever they're eating for that meal, even if it means steak and lobster. If my parents are eating out, they'll pack a "doggie bag" first before digging into the meal themselves. If we're going somewhere and he has to stay home, he'll whine and whine and whine at the door in which we leave. I could go on and on.

@Chillybear: +1 to all that! She gets SO jealous when I even look at DH. If he hugs me she sneaks in the middle or jumps up to be hugged too!

Our dog is a momma's boy and stands on the couch put his front paws on your shoulder and "gives hugs." He has to be included in what ever my or hubs is doing esp if we're like hugging or kissing hello/goodbye. He's kinda of a jerk to other dogs - if we give him a treat,he wont eat it right away, he puts it down and if the other dog is like a free treat he comes back and steals it.

Our dog thinks she is a human. She gets scared and hides in between DH's legs, or covers her eyes with her paws. She gets embarrassed when she passes gas or knocks something over, she tucks her tail and lays down with sad eyes. She likes to be held, so you set her on your hip with a leg on either side of you and she wraps her arms around your shoulders. She sleeps with her head on a pillow, she likes to be under the covers. She likes to stand on the bed/couch and wrap her arms over your shoulders and press her belly on your back. She wont sit on the floor. She will sit flat on her butt on the couch and she rides in the middle seat of DH's truck vs. in the back. She gives the easiest kisses.. she knows when to be gentle. I tell her what time we will be home from work when I put her in her crate, and if I don't she howls at the top of her lungs. She is a mess. DH talks "for her", and gives her an old southern woman's voice and it just makes me die every time.

I have one cat who acts like Jonathan Lipnicki did on Jerry Maguire in the scene where he is standing on the luggage carousel and high-fiving passengers as the carousel rotated. She also chatters constantly and is in love with DH. The other cat is a momma's boy and more of a fraidy cat, although he acts brave when I am around. He also audibly sighs when he is annoyed.

My cat can be a sweetheart but she acts like a toddler. She is always getting into things, running around being hyper, eating anything Apple product related and drinking out of my cups when I'm not looking. She begs for food, and asks for treats all the time. She's dependent but needy at the same time. She's got quite the personality.

What kind of personality do your pets have?
