I am going with Endometrin! I asked the RE who did my sono yesterday and she said my RE prefers Endometrin. I don't want to look back if this FET doesn't work and regret using Crinone.

Which one is oral? That's what I'm going to start on, but after this one cycle I think I will strongly suggest a suppository because I'm not excited about the side effect of the oral progesterone. :/ And my midwife said that the suppositories were more effective. This is such an interesting thread!

@swedishfish: I am yes, I don't trust other forums very much though and would have liked some personal experiences, mine are making me very sleepy. I don't mind though, all for a good cause

@swedishfish: I did 1 ml PIO twice daily for both my fresh IVF and FET. And vivelle estrogen transdermal patches for the FET. Since our first FET, the RE has reduced the PIO to 1 ml once a day - I asked if there were any changes in the protocol since 2012. We are also hoping to do another FET soon. Likely July! Wishing you all the best :goodluck: !

Prior to this pregnancy I used oral progesterone which apparently is not very effective and the side effects were brutal. During this pregnancy I had to switch several times due to insurance and availability. I was on endometrin, crinone, and prometrium. Personally I preferred endometrin, but I don't know if one is more effective than another.

@swedishfish: my RE prescribed crinone, but my insurance didn't cover it. I think it was $300/vial or something equally ridiculous.

They switched me to micronizrd progesterone 200mg. I'm pretty sure it's generic but I still got it through Freedom. My insurance covered it (though it was $125/2w supply out of pocket)

@swedishfish: Oh ok. I had to do both for the week or two leading up to transfer through 7 weeks pregnant. Then Crinone only until 12 weeks. So, if you're doing PIO also then the Crinone makes more sense (to me at least). It's just a little extra boost, not the sole source.

I did Crinone AND progesterone in oil shots for my FET. They did tell me that the Crinone alone wasn't enough (I asked when I was desperate to stop the shots). But I also think they were being super cautious.

@FaithFertility: it's not the same with IVF. Since your eggs are removed your body doesn't start producing progesterone on your own naturally right away like it should...thus the supplementation. Going through a FET is pretty similar.

I was prescribed Endometrin by both clinics and then PIO when my levels didn't go up enough. The first clinic wanted to do Crinone but it contained palm oil which I'm allergic to so they chose Endometrin instead.

My midwife had me do Crinone with this pregnancy and my progesterone levels hardly changed. When I went to my RE he put me on Endometrin which I did for my first pregnancy and my levels went up immediately. I think different people respond to supplements differently.

I used Endometrin tabs vaginally during my IVF cycle.

I was prescribed Crinone gel by my OBGYN's office with my miscarriage. I have an unopened box of Crinone so my FET nurse gave me the OK to use it during this FET cycle. But she also gave me a prescription for Endometrin. I hate to waste the Crinone (and its $75 copay!) but I feel like there must be a reason my RE's office prescribes Endometrin.

What did you use? I will ask for the office's opinion at my sono and blood work appointment next Friday.
