Her first shoes were see kai run. I loved the way they looked. I didn't love the way they wore. The toes quickly wore out and looked old. The butter soft wonderful leather just didn't hold up to all the foot dragging of just learning to walk.

Her next shoes were stride rite SRT like @zippylef posted. LOVED this style of shoe and can't recommend highly enough.

We've also had TOMS (regular tiny toms) - they don't stay on her heels properly and she walks out of them.

Currently, we are in Nikes. They don't go well with dresses but are very durable and hold up well to playground time and all of the other running around she's doing now.

Her first pair was high top toms. We were limited because of her huge feet and her late walking...... We only had so many soft sole shoes in her big foot size to choose from. But we loved her toms. They stay on her feet well, the sole is nice and soft, and the high top supports her foot.

Now we are onto shoe #2, converse.

We only have one pair. We bought Stride Rite tennis shoes when DS learned how to walk. They were a little pricey but I think they were worth it. We went with them because they are well-known and highly recommended. We've been happy so far!

For DS, who is now a confident walker, his first pair were pediped sandals http://www.zappos.com/pediped-harvey-original-infant

Second pair was Stride Rite: http://www.striderite.com/store/SiteController/striderite/productdetails?productId=8-132751&stockNumber=BB43329&skuId=***8********BB43329*W055&selectedWidth=W&selectedSize=5.5&showDefaultOption=true&directURL=true&cid=cse_googleprodsrch_1&gclid=CMmvvqeCgrUCFQyk4AodZzMAZQ

Pedipeds for first walker since I love the brand -DD wore a lot of pedipeds as a toddler, and they are the softest things ever, have great traction without ever causing tripping. The baby girls shoes are even cuter.

Stride Rite for when they walking more confidently because the SRT line provides good protection without being bulky or heavy. We have another pair of Pedipeds from the Grip n Go line but they run really wide, and he also takes the velcro apart way too easily.

We're about to go into first walkers and I think we're going for these bad boys.

http://www.striderite.com/store/SiteController/striderite/productdetails?catId=cat1530399SR&subCatId=cat1530650SR&&viewall=&subCatId=cat1530650SR&productId=8-134401&stockNumber=BG43301F&catId=cat1530399SR&productdisplayName=Disney+Baby+by+Stride+Rite+SRT+Soft+Motion+Minnie+Mouse&skuId=***8*******BG43301F*M040&pageIdentifier=productdetail&catdisplayName=Baby+Girl&showDefaultOption=true

I did a lot of research into it and we decided to do those
a) because they're cute
b) because the brand came VERY highly recommended for first walkers.

With the first shoes, you have to spend a little more and be careful that you're buying something that will allow their feet to grow properly.
