We are about 30 mins from downtown toronto attractions like the CN tower, Ripleys Aquarium, Casa Loma (big manor built in ealry 1900's), distillery district (cobblestone roads and great shops/restaurants.). I love Toronto, it has so much to offer in the way of tourism. Within a few hours, we have Orlando, so all those theme parks, plus Tampa, even more theme parks. Miami is also just a couple hours away. Closer to where I live we are known for skiing in winter, and hiking/mountain biking in summer. I've been to all of those before, but not recently. I have been to the zoo this year, so I could add that to the list.</p> <p>Places we live close enough for a short visit include Savannah, Asheville, Charleston, Jacksonville, Chattanooga, and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Again, I've been to all those but not that recently. We've got some spectacular parks and gardens right in the city, and if you drive an hour, mountains and waterfalls. Also, I pass the cruise ships to/from Alaska on my commute during the summer months.</p> <p>I try to avoid the Market in the summer because it's too crowded with tourists, but there are some businesses there I patronize regularly. We don't go up the Space Needle unless we have a visitor who wants to, but the Children's Museum is right next to it so we're there often. Locally within CT I might suggest Mystic Aquarium/Seaport or possibly our Wine Trail, it brings you to very quaint and charming areas around our state that you might not visit otherwise.
