I despise the infant stage which I know is awful to say but the constant neediness and sleep deprivation on top of nursing which Im not a huge fan of still kills it for me. Juliet is particularly needy I feel as an infant and while this also makes her more snuggly even as she grows (Drake wasnt as cuddly) which is nice its still rough as a whole. I need sleep to function so I like the older stages more when they start to sleep

Infant. No question. I have never shed more tears in my life than getting through that first year. Now at 18 months, LO's tantrums can be pretty epic, but I don't mind them nearly as much as dealing with an angry baby w/ limited ability to communicate.

INFANT!!!! Geez. That was insane. With his nursing strikes, at one point I felt very incompetent and unable to take care of him alone. I didn't know when he would have a nursing strike, and if I should pump or not pump before he woke...etc. Major nightmare. On top of that, the not STTN, and how he dropped on his growth chart from 90% to 25%, his colic / acid reflux. And pumping every 3 hours while trying to do some work. Grrrrr!!! No no no.

The toddler stage: At least now I can sleep!!! And I can leave him alone playing while I wash the dishes. His tantrums are not bad (or not bad yet). Love the toddler stage.

Infant.
Being gone all day at work from 7 weeks, I struggled to breastfeed and we reverse cycled a lot (he refused bottles all day and wanted to breastfeed all night). I was overtired, stressed about pumping at work, mixed with the hormones and struggling to be a good employee, finding the balance. It was tough.

Can't I just say they were all hard?! lol! At the time everything feels like the worst, but then hindsight makes me think it wasn't so bad. I've also cleverly forgotten how effin exhausted I was waking up every 2-3 hours with a newborn.

I'm going to say baby (not really infant), only because we dealt with medical issues which = projectile vomitting at any time...several times a day...it was awful and she was in pain. She's an active toddler but SO far (we are new to this toddler thing) she's been pretty good! She's silly and independent but she listens pretty well.

Infant. The toddler stage may be more challenging, but I'm enjoying it more. The first year was HARD. A colicky newborn and PPD is pretty much hell on earth.

Once we got past that, she was a really easy baby. I just think we have more fun now that she is older and we can communicate and interact and she has developed her own little personality.

Toddler is definitely challenging, whether it's dealing with an opinionated child who can talk back, feeding a picky child, or handling tantrums. DS1 definitely keeps me on my toes, and everyday is different. With DS2, the infant stage has been a breeze, but I can't say the same about my experience the first time around, although I blame EP for that.

We only have a 15 month old so it's still early but so far the infant stage was definitely harder and less rewarding! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this age! I love that she talks and can say what she wants (sometimes, to an extent of course!) I love that she is walking and when she gets over being in the stroller I can hold her hand and let her walk. Her "defiance" is still cute (it's not about boys, or "big" things and she's easily distracted) and tantrums are manageable although I know they will change. Still, I just don't find tantrums near as grating as infants' cries. I live that I know what's wrong and can usually comfort her. Her sleep *seems* to have improved although we did go through a rough stage a little after one. I love all the new skills. It just all feels more like a child and less like "baby blob" as I've heard said. So much that I think we'll dare do it again. ;)

Toddler stage so far! LO was the easiest infant from day one but once she hit around 14-15 months, whew, things just got that much harder! That could also relate to the fact that I found out I was pregnant again just before her first birthday, pregnancy + raising a toddler is HARD.

Still, despite the challenges that come with raising a toddler (tantrums, food struggles, frustration with communication, nonstop energy, etc), I think this is just the most wonderful stage of development and I love it!
