Another fantastic moment was on this beautiful, secluded beach in Kauai on our honeymoon. I felt like suddenly everything made sense, and this was what I was here for. I was too out of it when my son was born to experience the same clarity - although it was obviously a very special moment too - but when my two kids met was pretty awesome. One was when DH and I were on vacation in Hawaii and we found this semi-hidden black sand beach and spotted wild horses hanging out along the shore. We had just gone through some really tough times and had come out the other side of it and I was just so happy to be there with him and enjoying life again.</p> <p>The second was the morning after my LO was born. There was a moment where I looked over at DH holding her and he was laughing as she was kind of sucking on his knuckles. I was like "what are you doing?" and he said "we're playing" and for whatever reason, my heart sort of exploded. Our wedding was such an amazing day....really one of the best days of my life. Topped by a really special honeymoon. I loved meeting our first son, but I was so exhausted and emotional and stressed out. The birth of my second was pretty awesome. I was really in the moment and could appreciate all of the little things as a second time mom. </p> <p>My four year old stuns me with his zest for life and comments about how "this is the best day ever!" And always telling me "you're the best mom I ever had!" I felt it was a more real moment than the wedding I spent months planning (although I loved our wedding too!)</p> <p>I was pretty drowsy after giving birth, but I do have a great moment with DH when DS1 was born and we looked at each other and smiled - in awe of our creation and that we somehow did this together. </p> <p>There is no way I can pick a greatest moment with my kids, there are far too many. Of course my wedding day and the day LO was born were incredible, but those were not the happiest moments of my life. Cheesy as it might be, I'm happiest hanging out at home with my family. So was getting married, and a few career highlights. Strangely graduating from high school and college wasn't really a great moment for me... not sure why, but it just felt blah.
