This happened to us yesterday! She pooped while she was nursing and the way she sits always causes blowouts. Doesn't matter what the size of the diaper is. Anyway, dh was with me fortunately and he changed her but she was screaming the whole time in the gross plane bathroom.

@PrincessBaby: are her blowouts always up the back? I found that Huggies diapers seemed to prevent these a little better for us than Pampers did because of the stretchy waist elastic in the Huggies.

My airplane change story is that there was no change table in the bathroom!!! I needed to change my LO on the toilet seat.
It was horrifying.

@PrincessBaby: I feel your pain! OMG, airplane bathrooms are terrible. I flew to the states and back by myself with C a couple months ago and it was soooo stressful. She had a blowout on the way back. She apparently get diarrhea from traveling.

My last situation was last week though. C caught stomach flu from a friends baby and she was throwing up eveything for like 4 days. We went to the ER twice.

Didn't get to read the comments yet but that sounds almost exactly like something DD just did..but in a store and her carseat which was in the shopping cart. Plus, she screamed through the whole diaper changing process!

@PrincessBaby: @PrettyLizy: This happened to us too, the worst blowout LO has ever had was on his second flight. And it happened just when they turned on the fasten seatbelt sign to land, so he was sitting in his poop and screaming for 20 minutes. @Apis: heroically changed him in the airport bathroom. Apparently LO knew how bad it was, he was very still and cooperative on the changing table!

@PrincessBaby: My LO is about the same size and we're about ready to move to 2's. We stopped buying the 1's and only have about 15 left to use before we put her in the 2's. We use pamper swaddlers and the size 1 ends at 14lbs, but the size 2 starts at 12 lbs so you shouldn't see any leaks. Usually when we start seeing blowouts it's time to size up. Good luck!

This happened to us on our first flight too!! Happy baby, all is well, BAM BLOWOUT. DH was a champ and changed her in that tiny bathroom, and of course we hit turbulence. It was crazy.

@PrincessBaby: lol! Poor you! That does sound like a nightmare. Well when A does a blowout now it goes all over her harness and we can't take it off to clean it so yeah, pretty messy :) we get an old toothbrush and a bottle of stain remover and do what we can. Gross but pretty funny too.

@yoursilverlining: are you flying alone with/LO? Flying with H and DH was FINE....Just flying alone and having carseat and stuff and then having to shuttle to car- there are lots of things I'll do differently next time!

@LemonLong: So I wondered about going up a size...But she's in size 1 which is supposed to be up to 14lbs and last week at Ped she was 12lb6oz...A size 2 would still be ok? She has literally had at least 5 blowouts in the past week. I didn't know if a diaper being too big would also cause leaks?

@PrincessBaby: if you are getting blow outs fairly often try going up a size in diapers. We've always moved my LO up a size even before she hit the weight limit the diapers were supposed to go to. Once she'd go up a size the blowouts would stop.

I had one of those days once where I had to change my LOs outfit FOUR times and my own twice due to poop, pee, and spit up. It was a tough day!

OMG, we are flying next month and your story is pretty much my nightmare of what will happen! Eek! I am stress sweating too just reading this!

The only time LO has had a blowout was the only time I didn’t have a spare change of clothes in her diaper bag, so I had to carry her from the restaurant bathroom back to our table, wait for our food to get boxed up, pay and wait for my husband to get the car all while holding a nekkid baby wearing only a diaper. Mortified.

Our last crisis was when LO helped herself to 2 of the cat’s treats! Ew!

i'm not sure if my story warrants a crisis label but we did have a huge pooplosion and subsequent multiple dipe change episode in a 30 min sitting earlier this wk (thankfully on the changing table and none got on mommy!)

We haven't had too many crises, but I have had to throw away a changing pad after a particularly bad poop episode. No amount of scrubbing made it clean. At least I was at home, though, and could deal with it.

We recently had dinner with good friends at a restaurant. Wagon Jr. Was being a bit ornery to say the least. He didn't want to eat so he'd hold food in his mouth and not chew it, then drink milk. The food would slip down his throat and he'd gag.. Then vomit all over the table. As soon as we got him cleaned up, he said "uh oh"... He had peed in his pants. Everything was soaked (even his socks and shoes) and there were vomit and pee puddles on the ground and in his highchair.

I didn't eat much that night!

Haha! Most of our crises to date have to do with me being unable to pin him down during a diaper change and him flipping over before I have a chance to wipe his butt. Poop galore.

I took a bath with Charlotte last night and she pooped in the tub while we were both sitting in it. I was so hoping it was a fart but once I moved all the bubbles out of the way, it was a confirmed explosion in water.

Bahahahaha!

Oh honey, I'm so sorry! When it rains it pours, yes? Way to power through it!

The worst I had was when he was 3 weeks old. I was picking up my SIL from the airport with my BIL. First off, I had to change him on the floor of the parking garage (on a mat, of course). Then I left the diaper bag in the car because I figured that we'd only be in there for a few minutes and I had JUST changed him...rookie mistake. Somewhere between the car and baggage claim he blew out. All over his clothes and in the car seat. I didn't realize it until after I settled him in my lap to nurse him...and proceeded to get myself covered in poop.

We got back to the car and cleaned him up, but the car smelled of poop, I smelled like poop, because of course I didn't bring a spare set of clothes, and then he screamed bloody murder the hour and a half it took to get home. No bueno.

@TurtleDoves: Omg!!!! WHY do blowouts happen??? Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing something really wrong? Like, do I have a college degree yet cannot properly change my child's diaper? Or does poop just sometimes shoot out at like Mach 3 speed?!?

Same *exact* thing happened at his 2 months photo shoot. I decided to brave it alone. Never again. Blow out, ruined outfit #1 for photos. Fiinne. Then, spit up. OK....managed to get some pictures with that outfit. Outfit #3 comes along and...he hates it and sit there and squirms the whole time. We left with 2 good photos out of a 1.5h photo shoot! 1 was in his damn diaper. The other was in a swaddle. Worse.day.ever. $$ down the drain:)

OMG, DH and I flew to visit my family last week with H. She did awesome and it wasn't stressful since there were 2 of us to juggle baby/luggage/carseat.... Then DH flew straight to work offshore and I flew home solo with H. DISASTER!!!!! EPIC FAIL! There was one crisis after another... Way too much to type out, but my "favorite" was that as soon as we took off, H pooped her diaper. Ok, fine. But it smelled bad which can only mean one thing - BLOWOUT. I took her out of the Bjorn and sure enough, all the way up the back! So I had to use a burpy bib to put between her and the bjorn, wait 15mins for the seatbelt sign to go off, then change her diaper AND clothes in the airplane bathroom! Aside from having about half an inch to move to get wipes and whatever else, H was flailing all around just having a wonderful time and her hands kept touching the walls!!! I am PARANOID about germs and her getting sick, so I was basically continually wiping her hands and arms down...It pretty much took about 30 minutes to get her changed and back in the Bjorn. Oh, and just for extra fun- As soon as I got all of the poop off her, she peed everywhere and got it all over her and the changing mat.

There is a deodorant commercial that talks about "stress sweat." I was like "Isn't all sweat the same?" Well yesterday I found out what stress sweat is! I wasn't hot, but I was sweating!!!!

What was your last stressful crisis?
