DH has been fairly absent lately due to studying for a big entrance exam. He wrote today, so we decided to go for a nice family walk. I carried dd (almost 10 months) on my back in the ergo for the first time.

She reached out, grabbed dh's finger, and held it. Then started saying dada, dada.

Two nights before the boys' birthday, E was having a hard time going to sleep. I'd been in a couple of times to pat him, etc., but finally I just picked him up. He was laying in my arms, and he kept reaching up to pat me and doing this little half asleep, sing songy, "Maaaa maaaaaa mama ma maaaamaaaaa" (which he never actually says when he's awake). I was extra nostalgic with the birthday almost there, and I could not get enough! So sweet. I hated to lay him back down when he was asleep.

@Mrs. Pen: Oh my gosh, both those stories are just too precious!

@Running Elley: @mrs. wagon: @PinkElephant: Thank your for sharing your sweet stories... although, you are making me want a sibling for J in the worst way!!! :)

@Kimberlybee: Aww... It's such a cool feeling knowing they can distinguish us from everyone else and that we are such a comfort to them!

@scg00387: All, I can totally picture it. So cute!

@Cherrybee: I love when my LO claps too... it is just so adorable.

@loveisstrange: Aww... my LO is not a cuddler either, so I totally know what you mean... it makes those moments so much more special.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Now that is just too much!!!!!!

@lemondrop: Aww, so sweet. Good luck with #2! So exciting!

@oliviaoblivia: That is adorable... makes me wish J didn't self-wean so early (11.5 mo).

@CupQuakeWalk: I love it! What a sweetie!

@Smurfette: Awww... that is precious. My LO likes to play with my hair too.

@Foodnerd81: awww.... I try to soak it all in too... I am keenly aware that they will only be little for so long... trying to really enjoy these moments.

@yoursilverlining: I die. That is just precious.

@JerricaBenton: That is adorable! So sweet that she was thinking of you during a fun activity and stopped to show you some love.

@Danizaur: Awww.... just wait until he starts smiling at you... it gets even better! :)

@bpcmarj: I can't wait until my LO can talk in sentences like that! So sweet.

@MrsH: :) I remember how giddy it made me to see my LO smile at me when she was little... actually, it still has that effect!

@Bao: I love when my LO does that too!

@Bookish: Awww... just what you needed!

@BeatlesFan629: yes, hugs and kisses have been my favorite milestones thus far!

This past weekend I made my DS some scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, no big deal. I put them on his plate and set them in front of him and he took a bite and exclaimed "Mama, I happy!" It's the little things. :)

Aww these are all so sweet! I love it!

Today I had a funeral to go to in the morning, and it happened to be in the church that is attached to LO's daycare, so I luckily got to go squeeze on my girl afterwards.

When I left and waved 'byebye' she turned, giggled at me, and then crawled across the room to chase me down. It was the sweetest thing!

These are so precious! When lo was at her music class this week she was playing with the kids, walking all over the place by herself. Then she kept looking back at me and came over and put her arms up for me to pick her up. I did and she put her arms around me and gave me a big kiss on the cheek and then wanted to get down and went off to play. I almost cried!

@78h2o: I totally just teared up. HOW SWEET. Isn't it such an amazing feeling knowing that she has been basically waiting for you and is sooooo relieved that you are there to save the day????? Ahh I'm crying again.

For my older one, he's been so so sweet to his little sister more and more these days. When she gets whiny and screechy he goes over to her and pretends to tickle her, or starts babbling and dancing around right in front of her face, and no matter how angry she is she always starts laughing. And then he'll go behind her, put his hands around her waist and direct her to go somewhere so he can show her something. So so so cute. She adores him so much, too-- she never gets angry or pushes him away. He is ALWAYS able to cheer her up. I hope that continues!!

As for my baby girl, she has been really attached to me lately. Her night wakings have made life rough for us all, but she has started saying "mamaaa" and things like that and hugging, patting my back, coming in for kisses.

She's been really obsessed with my belly (which she points to all the time and says "baby" bc I'm 31 wks pregnant)....this morning she lifted up my shirt telling me she wanted to "share" a sticker with "sister"...then after a few mins of patting the bump and plastering it with stickers, she pulled my shirt back down announcing that "baby cold"! Such a little mama already! :)

Oh these are all so sweet!

My favorite moments with C are when I come in and get her after she wakes up, from night or naps. I pick her up and she gives me a big hug and rests her little head on my shoulder, just for a minute, before pulling it up and looking around. I know she won't always do it so every time she lays her little head down I just stop and breath her in and enjoy it. Brings little tears of happiness to my eyes after every nap.

The last couple nights she has had a horrible time falling asleep. So I have gone back in to rock her. And she just melts into my arms. Sunday night she was reaching over me and I finally realized that she was looking for my hair (just chopped it off), so I undid the pony tail. She stuck her hand in it and was out.

C is not a cuddler. Never. She never has been, even as a newborn. Sunday we went to London and on the Tube back to where we parked our car, she laid on my chest the whole way. Partway through the ride back, she sat up, grabbed my face and started kissing me all over.

My DD is a total daddy's girl but at night she needs her mommy to put her to sleep! My DH has tried on several occasions but she will toss and turn and whine. But as soon as she sees me enter the room, she'll clap and giggle, reach out for me to hold her. So after a few pats on the back from mommy, she'll go to sleep. I love that I am the one she needs before she goes to sleep!

@78h2o: Awwww so sweet! My heart is melting just picturing that scene. I think I would cry (tears of joy) if my DD did that.

Aw that is so sweet!!!

Today I was getting DD ready for a nap and DS was playing in the room. I got her swaddled and was rocking her. I always sing the same 3 songs before naptime to DS and I started singing the first one to DD. After the one I was going to get up and take her to her room so I told DS to tell his sister Night Night and give her a kiss. He started making opening and closing movements with his hands and saying "Tinkle tinkle" hahaha. Once I started singing twinkle twinkle he sang the whole song along with me (I never heard him do that before!!) and then he walked over, gave Emmy a kiss on her head and said "Nigh night" before walking back to his toys. It was SO incredibly sweet.

@78h2o: omg I die- sooo sweet! J did something similar once when I went in to kiss him after he was already asleep. I don't see him at all on Mondays, so I go kiss him when I get home. One night he kind of half asleep opened his eyes, grinned, said mama! Kissed me, rolled over and went back to sleep! So sweet..

The thing he did last night just killed me. We pray at dinner time every day. And halfway through dinner he asked to pray again (he says "bay?!"). And so he folded his hands and started listing grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt, mama, daddy, cousin, cousin, AMEN. I just died of the sweetness! I love that his first thought was to pray for his favorite people, even though our prayers at dinner usually involve thankfulness for food.
