When my MIL would pop over and take E to the park. That and the meal train were AMAZING. Nobody came and stayed with us and we didn't have any sort of extensive help, but man, those things helped tremendously. Our neighbor also brought some wine over, which was lovely :)

DH let me have me time every day once we came home . Since DS was nursing, it would be a 1-3 hours in between feedings. I can't stand being in the house all day, so was great.

I'm too hormonal to read these, because just reading about such kind thoughtful people is making me cry. :)

With LO1 we had lots of meals and my MIL stayed with us for a week and cooked and cleaned and held LO so I could nap. It was lovely.

We had a neighbor that we had hardly spoken to prior to the birth drop off hot meals for a few weeks. It was so unexpected and kind.

A couple of friends and their kids came and decorated our Christmas tree. That was really awesome because I did not have the energy for Christmas decorating, especially while recovering from a c-section. Another couple vacuumed our house while visiting, which I also thought was amazing.

The hot meals were such a blessing! Friends and family who came to visit brought food and diapers in different sizes. We could have gone over a year without buying diapers but at around 4 months, my DD's skin started reacting negatively to Huggies so I started on the Honest bundles around then. I gave all the diapers away to my nephew who is the same age as DD.

A family member came over and did my dishes and just picked everything up. She just talked to me while I sat on the couch and nursed and gave me some adult social interaction that I desperately needed. Haha

I didn't get much help after he was born, husband was working. We got home 3 days before Christmas and everyone wanted to visit. I could've used a meal!

But I will say my best friend went holiday shopping for me with my list and credit cards and I couldn't thank her enough. I was unexpectedly put on bedrest and unable to do any of that stuff. She also drove me in for my bi-weekly ultrasounds as I wasn't supposed to be driving either.

One of my husbands coworkers wives dropped off a hot meal without even stepping in the house. The next week she ordered my husband to stop at her house and pick up a meal. Homemade chicken, salad, soup and a delicious side. It was heaven.

My neighbours also brought over two meals! So helpful.

My friends are amazing. At 36 weeks I was put on bedrest. Before I even home from the doctor's appointment they had booked out every day for the next two weeks on who would pick up my toddler from school and keep her until my husband got off work. Then one of them kept her all weekend when LO2 was born. Then 4 days later my husband and I both got strep throat and again they jumped in to action to care for us and the kids until my dad could fly in to town that night. And they have organized a hot dinner for us every Monday night through the end of January

My mom got groceries for us and put them in the fridge. MIL also brought snacks and coffee. A lady from church met us at the hospital and took us out to eat. LO was in the NICU and she wanted us to have a break from hospital food. All of that helped so much.

My parents brought us dinner a few times in the first week and it was so great to not have to worry about cooking. Another friend gave us a $50 gift card for a local restaurant that delivered - I thought that was also so thoughtful. I loved all the little baby gifts, clothes etc, but this was so helpful.

That is so nice! My mom made us a few dinners and they were all big enough for leftovers so it was great.

Not immediately after baby was born but maybe around 2 months we had a snowstorm and my husband had to work storm work(18+ hr days) and a family down the street checked on me a lot, the husband walked my dog for me.

With Xander, it was bringing us food! I even had a friend just pick up Olive Garden for us one day and drop it off. That was AMAZING!

With Logan, it was entertaining Xander! Keeping him occupied and happy while I focused on the baby was so helpful.

Right now it's taking the toddler out of the house! She loves her new sister soooooooo much and just wants to be in her face all the time.

Also I missed a cookie swap and my friend brought over a box of cookies, plus an easy to eat with one hand meal, and went with me to a breastfeeding support group yesterday. That was pretty awesome b

Bringing us a hot dinner. We had a woman from my church bring us a full meal with protein, carb, veggies, starch and dessert! It was warm and I was able to keep it warm in the oven until my husband got home from work. Hello, perfect!!

What did you find helpful when you were recovering?
