At 4 weeks Lo had her own 4 hourly schedule so she was pretty predictable when she would wake up. She wouldn't go to sleep at night until 9.30-10.30.

Oof, you're doing better than we were. His "bedtime" was around 9 at that age, but he was waking up every couple hours still. And getting him to nap was just impossible. It felt like all we did some days was work at getting him to fall asleep, just to have him sleep for like 30 minutes. He's 15 weeks and he's just now getting to the point where he can fall asleep on his own SOMETIMES.

Hang in there, this too shall pass!

I've been reading Weissbluth and according to him, NBs who are under six weeks old typically don't go down for the night until 10 or 11. After six weeks is when he recommends starting with a much earlier bedtime.

AFM, DD has been going down around 8 or 9. I wake her to feed at 4 am and then we usually go back to sleep until 7:30 or 8. During the day I wake her to feed every 2.5 to 3 hours. I'm afraid I don't have many tips for daytime sleep...I'm mostly just lucky, I think. I usually nurse her until she's pretty close to sleep and then put her in the swing. We turn the swing off once she's asleep so that she doesn't become reliant on the motion in order to remain asleep.

She went to bed between 9-10. Waking up every two to three hours. Naps were only long if we held her.

Sounds normal, in that I don't really think there is a normal! Around 4 weeks I think LO was also going to 'bed" around 10...we didn't really have a routine, so when I say he went to bed, I mean that's when we moved him into the bassinet in our room, rather than wherever he'd been hanging out before. He was up every 3-4 hours at night, so 2-3 wakeups. He usually fell asleep while nursing, or while in the stroller. Honestly, for the first 3 months, and especially the first 6 weeks, whatever works is the right thing to do!

Do whatever you have to to get more sleep! First three months are survival mode. Sounds normal to me!

That's what E was like two weeks ago! Bed at 9, up at 2am and about 530am....then usually back down til about 7. She usually naps after lunch though-I put her in the swing so I can work out and then she passes out. Her naps can be sporadic. Swaddling her helps

I think that sounds pretty good to me! At that point A wasn't "napping" but more like falling asleep randomly but no more than 30 or 45 minutes at a time. He is only 6 weeks now, so not much more experience than you ;) haha, but he very adamantly puts himself to bed at 9:30, no earlier. I think at this point I'm ok to go with it. Probably as he gets older I'll try to push it earlier, maybe 15 or 30 minutes at a time. On good days, he generally wakes up around 1 or 2 and around 4 or 5.

M sleeps around 10 hours at night with 2 wake ups. We can't get her to sleep before 9:30 or 10pm!! It's annoying but we figure we are pretty lucky with her night time sleep.

I can't get her to nap during the day without using the car or the stroller. It's making me feel like a terrible mom. I have no idea what's normal.

What was your LO's sleep like at 4 weeks? Any tips for an earlier bed time and naps???
