@Boogs: Same. DH thinks its crazy that my family regularly makes a snack to share at 10:00/10:30 at night when 2+ siblings get together, but that's what we're used to. :-) I was looking at my permanent record while I was in HS, and on my preschool intake sheet it asks about sleep patterns and my mom had written "refuses to sleep until she can at least watch Johnny Carson's monologue." Ha!

Was 8pm until I was about 8, then it was 8.30 until I was 11/12. Then after that it was up to me since my parents said I would have to deal with the consequences of being tired the next day if I stay up too late.

8:30 for the longest time. Changed to 9 I think around middle school age, grade 5 or 6 maybe. As I got older, bedtime was less a time for me to go to sleep and more time for my parents to have alone time. Pretty sure that lasted 'til grade 11? Had to be in my room by 9, but didn't have to go to sleep.

My bedtime was 9pm. In high school I had to be in my room by 10 because that was when my mom went to bed and she didn't want me in the main living areas waking her up.

I remember having to go to bed right after "You Can't Do That On Television" on Nick. I'm guessing that was around 8? That was grade school.

I don't think I had a bed time in jr. high and definitely did not in high school. My mom seems to recall I went to bed at 8 growing up, and she always says that a 7:30/8 bedtime is great for a toddler/kid.

I always remember it being around 10-11 pm. I remember hearing from friends that had 9 pm bedtimes and thought that was super early! Now I know they were the normal ones.

Now that I'm older and know people who have kids, it seems really normal to have kids' bed times be around 7 or 8pm. Although I don't know anyone with older kids to ask what their bed times are.

When I was growing up I remember meeting this girl in kindergarten whose bed time was 8pm. And I thought she had the MEANEST MOM EVER. I was like, terrified of her because I thought 8pm bed time must mean show was a horrible evil witch lol.

My bed time from the time I can remember (5-6 years old) was always 9pm, although I could often talk myself into 9:30. Once I got to be probably 8-10 years old the rule was I had to be in my room by 10pm but my parents didn't care if I was actually sleeping as long as I wasn't bugging them. That then only lasted until I was probably 12 or so and my parents stopped caring when I went to bed. Through most of middle school I went to bed probably around 10 or 11, and high school was anywhere from 11 to 1. Sometimes if it was like 2am and I was still up my dad would yell down to go to bed already, but that was it.

What was your bed time when you were a kid? When did it change/stop?
