I'm very comfortable with the idea of formula if my baby doesn't take easily to breastfeeding. I've seen too many of my friends end up broken and devastated when things continue to go badly in that area week after week, and after much discussion with my husband we have decided that we'll give it the old college try but that when we say when, he or she is onto the bottle. All in all, after the "fourth trimester" I've been much less anxious than I would've anticipated. Breastfeeding was a challenge in the beginning, but I had no idea that &lt;over&gt;supply could even be a problem. </p> <p>Despite the horrible newborn experience, apart from a few spats, our marriage was surprisingly resilient. The best advice I got was to imagine the baby was a tiny tyrant hell bent on breaking us apart.
