They like to give you as much time as possible to go into labor on your own. They gave me 24 hours after my water broke to go into labor, i didn't so I went back in and they induced me at that time. I think each baby is different and it irks me when some drs push for inductions just because a mother hit the EDD!! @zippylef: whoa!! I thought you have to deliver within 24 hours of your water breaking? I thought most drs would perform a cesarean in that case.
