I didn't read any books. Just followed my baby's cues and my instincts!

I guess it's less about being scared and more about feeling like a horrible mother when I ignore my LO's pleas for help. But, I've known many women (who I believe to be good mothers) who say it's the only thing that worked.

@BabyLove: It doesn't recommend it, per se, but it talks about it and how to do it. Don't be scared! Just be informed and do what works for you! :)

I don't have a recommendation for you. But I do know that I wasn't a fan of the baby whisper book. It pretty much said to go shush the baby and it'll go to sleep. Yes, like it's really that easy.

@rubies- I actually just looked it up on B&N. I think I'll pick it up this weekend. Does it recommend CIO? I'm not sure that I have an opinion on the method yet but I'm a bit scared of it.

LO is only 4.5 months but I'd like to be well versed on the matter before we resort to it. It looks like we'll have quite the battle. LO has gone from a wonderful sleeper to a poor sleeper. The issue has endured for a couple of months and actually seems to be getting progressively worse. We haven't changed a thing but I can't determine what's going on. Teething, growing, hunger. We're just not sure. Thus the need to read up on sleep training.

Suggestions?
