So nice to have some comfort food in the house. It was all comfort food from my childhood that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside when I needed it most. I'm a really picky eater, so if people had made casseroles I wouldn't have eaten them... (DH would have though!) Aside from that, I appreciated when friends came over and offered to pick up food. It lasted like 3 full dinners. However I agree, I got a lot of heavy meals and soooooo many cookies/brownies, that I actually put on weight the first few weeks after coming home, which did a number on my fragile emotions! Now, I would make a huge pot of this this for a mom, along with some good bread. My dad kept bringing us food from restaurants, which was much appreciated but we had to eat it right away. FIL sent one of those cut up fruit-that-look-like-flowers baskets, which was a nice idea, but we had to throw away so much of it. I don't know why, but it was amazing. I mean, anything someone makes for you is great, but I loved that rigatoni.</p> <p>Things that weren't good?
