My absolute favorite was watching my grandmother with him. My grandfather passed away in April and we knew this holiday season would be hard for the entire family, but especially for her. I loved my first Christmas Eve service with LO, even though she was being wild and we had to watch from outside the sanctuary during the candlelight. I got all teary eyed when she clapped and tried to sing along with the carols.... on Christmas morning, it was fun watching my LO and my nephew open gifts wearing matching pjs. My LO LOVED getting a purse and crayons, which really surprised me because she's only 12 mo... I didn't think she'd really react to gifts like that. At night we walked around with the kids and looked at the neighbors Christmas lights... LO kept hugging me and kissing me, squealing and saying, "Mama ooooh," as she pointed to various displays. It was snowing and it just looked so magical! And it was quiet and we were out on some of our property that is just near nothing, so it was like being on a deserted island or something.
