The first car that we (hubby and I) bought specifically for me is my shiny blue 2011 Nissan Rogue. I got it new, and it lasted me until this year -- 12 years in total! I was a horrible driver and they ended up buying me 5 other cars before I bought my first car myself, a 2002 Ford Focus. It was my Great Grandma's and had less than 60k on it in 1999 when I turned 16! I ran it until it cracked a head and blew the engine. 1994 Ford Ranger came next. First car I bought was a '96 Dodge Stratus biggest mistake I could've made, after replacing the entire engine... That was followed by an equally awesome Oldsmobile. The first car I bought myself (used) was an '05 Nissan Sentra. I had that until this summer. It was a great little car, but not super for a kiddo. I drive it until the floor boards rusted out and we sold it for parts. The first car I bought for myself as a Jeep Cherokee, I was in the army reserve, and travelled a lot for taskings, so it was great for carrying all my stuff with me to work somewhere for 3-4 months at a time during my summer breaks from University. When I finished University, I bought myself a brand new Mitsbishi Eclipse, and I LOVED it, but had to trade it in with our baby on the way! It was the first time in my life where I had to drive everywhere.
