My first period wasnt much different while on my BCP. My 1st cycle was 27 days. My next period was worse, cramps were worse (both regular and back) and it was a little heavier. Next cycle was 26 days and my period has been worse than last month. It just started yesterday but so far cramps are worse (I was practically curled up in a ball) but ibuprofen worked fine. My mood swings/PMS got a little worse, seem to last longer. Nausea , soreness, cramping, more soreness, I also started up "picking up new smells" (which made me think i was pregnant). Coming off the hormones really threw me for a loop. It came after 31 days, which was longer than my BC cycles, but not crazy. I didn't really have any major cramping, but I guess I was more emotional/hormonal than usual. Oh those first set of cramps were the worst. I had horrible post birth control symptoms two weeks after going off. I lived off of Advil for two weeks to get through it. More crampy and and almost "different" cramps that has me wondering too. It came later, and then was really heavy the first two days and next two days were minimal. I had a lot of PMS symptoms prior to this period (sore breasts, nausea, back pain, etc.) in the past couple of weeks. It was 38 days in between my last period and this one (first one off bc). The flow was heavy the first two days and the back pain was unbearable the first day of my period. However, it's lasted my usual 4-5 days and the flow subsided in the 3rd-4th day. I've been on some form of birth control for so long, I don't even remember what my periods or symptoms were like before then. I am having like majorly sore breasts and a little nausea. Since it is my first month off BC, I don't even know when to expect my period. My last "period" when I was on birth control was the beginning of November. Hoping these are PMS symptoms and not a pregnancy just yet. We are trying to get our health insurance situation sorted out first!
