They were somewhat far apart but I knew they were different then the BH ones. But despite knowing they were different I still had an internal battle of no this is all in your head vs maybe you should start thinking of heading over to the hospital. I had three more 10 minutes apart, then a few 7 minutes apart, then they were 5 minutes apart and definitely lasting at least a minute each time. I found a tiny chunk of blood on the tissue when I wiped after going to the bathroom once. Since I hadn't seen ANY spotting or anything the entire pregnancy I knew it had to mean something. I had been having braxton hicks every night for weeks, but they were so bad I couldn't sleep. At 5am we started to time them, and by 7 they were so painful I could not walk or talk through them. So we headed to my OBGYN's which opened at 8:30, and when I was checked I was 2.5 cm! I can't even say that was it. I actually got back into bed and thought if it was really my water breaking, contractions would come soon after. The day before I went into labor I had some contractions that were timeable but nothing stuck around. I mostly walked and slept through my early labor. With my second, I started noticing contractions about 2 minutes apart. I just just decided that if they didn't go away within 5 hours I was in labor.
