I always say it was gender neutral with pink accents, but in actuality...it was pretty girly. As far as clothes, we put away the really girly stuff for our future baby. I remember that it just felt right and I was crying and holding him and looking back and forth from DH to Baby T and back again. An exhausted peace came over me. I had been pushing for 3 hours after about 24 hours in labor, but I didn't feel the extent of the exhaustion until that night. I remember thinking that he was so big. He was 10 pounds 9 ounces, which now seems so tiny in comparison to 23 pounds! I was in love immediately. I had to hand him off to the nurses to get stitched up because I was afraid he was going to fall. The pain of getting stitched up was the worst part of it all, and I just remember being so mad that it was taking so long and I wasn't holding my baby. Once he had been laid on my chest I just didn't want to put him down. I remember after the nurse took him from me to go to the warmer and to weigh him asking if he was a boy.
