@LCTBQE: sounds very similar to what I’m going through...on day 9 and still not what I’m used to. Some days red blood but never a heavy flow. How long did it take you to regulate? Were you using OPKs? Were you able to conceive...if you were trying?

Thanks ladies! I guess I’ll just hope for the best and use my OPK starting at day 10, assuming yesterday was Day 1 for me???....y’all this is hard. I can’t lie. I feel like I’m more emotional now than when I miscarried but I think it’s the pressure I’m putting on myself. I’ll be 36 on Sunday and even though people tell me that’s not old, I’m anxious. It doesn’t help that my 19 mo old daughter has to point out EVERY baby we see when out or that my SIL got pregnant with her second on her first try last last month. I’m extremely over the moon happy for her but why is it so hard for some???
Anyways, thanks again! Good luck to any who are trying!! 😘

I got my period after my d&c about 4 weeks later and it was the weirdest period I’ve ever had. Super light, kept stopping and starting, switched between red and brown, and lasted longer than 8 days. Very little cramping.

Usually mine are heavy with bad cramping the first day, then get steadily lighter and over in 5 days.

I think there is no normal exactly ... but expect it to be weird for a little while. I don’t think that means you can’t conceive right away though I didn’t. Mine were super heavy with ridiculous cramps for a few months. Then it went back to normal pretty much. I do think I remember some stopping and starting that wasn’t my norm, but it did turn out to be a real period.
It’s so hard in the months after. Sending you hugs and lots of luck!

@Stardust17: Totally get what you're going through. After my miscarriage (medically managed at 10 weeks, no d&c) I had a light period at 4 weeks, and then two weeks of spotting that started around 6.5 weeks, and then a real period that started at ~10 weeks. That's not to say that you're going to spot for two weeks without getting a period, just that bodies are weird and no one really knows what your body is going to do. When I called the OB a week into the spotting, I was told that it could be totally normal, they retested my HCG and it was still 0 and between that and the u/s they'd done it was unlikely that I had retained tissue (I never did pass anything), so unless I had acute pain, which would indicate infection, everything was fine and my body was just going through its process.

There's not a whole lot I can say, except that my experience isn't typical, and I hope that your spotting turns into a period, but if it doesn't know that you're not the only one, it doesn't necessarily mean something's wrong, and it will get back to normal. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself, you can't control what will happen with your body.

I remember spotting for what felt like forever... but I think I got my real period 5-6 weeks later.

@Stardust17: I just had my first period after a natural miscarriage so I’m not sure if it is different. I spotted for 4(!) days before my period actually started which is not typical for me. Once it started it was heavy and very clotting and miserable. I bled for 4 days and then spotted for 2 more.

I can totally relate to the feeling of just wanting it to come after everything you have been through

I FINALLY got my period yesterday! After almost 7.5 weeks since my D&C. Up until last July, my cycles were very predictable. I would have a day of spotting, 3-4 days bleeding and 1-2 days spotting. Very little to no cramping.
Yesterday, I felt fine until about 3pm and was on a walk with my daughter. Felt some very mild cramping and thought maybe it could be menstrual. Got home and definitely had dark red blood and I was for certain it was my period and I was going to be in for a heavy cycle. However, since then I’ve only had mild brown spotting. Is this normal?? I know everyone is different but if you’ve experienced this, I’d love to have some feedback. I’ve never wanted my period as bad as I do now. I’m ready to start trying!!
Thanks!
