@LuLu Mom: Ditto to everything you said, actually! We also potty trained over Thanksgiving and it's been so much nicer/easier than I thought it'd be!

Mine was very easy, no stress. 28 months. I totally followed her lead, she was just ready. She was dry all day after a week or two, with almost no accidents. I'd been prepared to wait much longer, rather than push it and have an awful time.

DD (29m at time) decided while I was in the hospital having DS that she was ready. Within 3 months she was trained, mostly handled by our babysitter so seemed easy to me. DS is currently 27m and starting to show signs. He has peed on the potty twice but doesn't really tell us when he has to go usually tells us afterwards. I'm afraid this time because I am home with him so this is going to fall so much more on me than with DD.

We used timed intervals as opposed to naked time and it worked perfectly for pee. Bowel movements are another story completely, but I did order and read the book that Mr. Bee recommended and we've begun to implement the strategy.

We waited until LO was almost 27 months and pee went easier than I expected. I had no idea it would take 3 months for her the muster up the courage to attempt a poop in a potty! She saved poops for her nap and night diapers! Things are going well now and she pees and poops on the regular toilet...no more cleaning out her little potty!

@mrbee: I'm afraid of the #2 part :/ she already struggles at times so I'm imagining with the added new experience it's going to be even harder.

She has been in panties since Thanksgiving weekend, and I can honestly say it has been way easier than I expected. This was the part of parenting that scared me the most, and she has made it very easy on us.

She still has the very occasional potty accident (we still do pull ups at nighttime and nap time but starting soon we will be eliminating those since she has been consistently waking up dry for both) but that's usually when she gets to playing and doesn't quite make it. We still ask frequently if she needs to go (if it's been awhile) and we still have lots of false alarms ;) but she's been picking up on her body's signals which is most important.

Edit: I should note she was almost 26 months when we started, she was already pooping on the potty at that time. For some reason that came very easy to her.

@Bao: The pee training was pretty easy with both! Training for #2 was harder though... and it took more time than I anticipated to get rid of the night diaper.

Overall, how was your potty training experience? Was it more stressful and time consuming than you imagined? Did you go through it thinking how easy it was?

We are only about a day in with potty training so I won't rate how it's going so far, but would love to hear how it went for you guys!
