I hated, HATED that disgusting orange drink for the test. And I'm normally a sugar fiend but that was just beyond.

Honestly, I don't like anything about it except the extra ultrasounds (though my pocket book doesn't like that part). I was upset at the diagnosis. I wish I could just eat what I want when I want. I hate having to plan most of my meals. I also feel guilty when I cheat - and honestly I probably cheat too much. I hate how I can eat a "perfect" meal and my number may come out high,, but I can cheat a little and my number is totally normal. Sure, I've gained less weight but I still wish I didn't have GD!

I'm not as upset or paranoid as I was in the beginning, but instill don't like it.

Everything you listed! I was PISSED when I got the diagnosis, but after a few days of sulking, I got over it. The diet wasn't too bad once I got used to it and I found that it helped me from gaining a lot of weight.

The scheduling of meals and checking blood sugar got on my nerves. Also, whenever I would "indulge" a bit, I felt very guilty...like I was harming my LO :(

@HLK208: I actually passed the 1 hour test this time. I was so shocked! My new OB really wants me to stick to a low carb/high protein diet though so I can decrease the chances of a big baby and increase my odds of a successful VBAC.

@Cherrybee: I also like the diet! For me, it's really easy to stick to even though I usually crave sweets. The protein ties me over so I don't feel deprived of sweets.

I'm just hungry hippo though.

@lilyann: do you have it this time too? I didn't have it with my second (well, one number from my test results was borderline so if I did, it was mild - I took my blood sugar anyway and it was always normal so my doctor thought I didn't have it).

I really enjoyed the diet (why can't I get myself to stick to it now???) and didn't mind testing my blood sugar at all. I hated all the additional intervention, being induced and having to be on the monitor during labour (thus on my back).

@HLK208: Everything you listed and low/no carb breakfasts, limiting fruit, and keeping a log for the nurses that would check on me every two weeks.

Definitely the fact that my last OB wanted to induce before 40 weeks and told me I wasn't allowed to go over my due date. My failed induction = unplanned C-section.

I am sorry you are having to deal with GD

There were a few things I didn't/don't like. Being diagnosed is the first - my numbers were borderline so I didn't want to admit I had it. Second, I didn't like that an induction was mentioned at every appointment during my last trimester (with my first). Last but not least, I HATE waiting every 2 hours to test my blood sugar to eat again. I'm a grazer and I get hungry in the afternoon especially. I try to keep myself busy and exercise but my stomach always growls since I'm use to grazing!
