Naming our first was easy! Naming our second was a little more challenging and it took longer to find one we both liked.

It was really hard for us to come up with a name for LO. Now that she is named though, we already have the perfect name picked out for baby number 2 that goes really well with LO name.

#2 was harder for us because she's a girl. For some reason, girl names were so much harder to pick out than boys!

I agree that #2 will be difficult.

She has a gender neutral family name so if #2 is a boy, I want a more masculine name and if #2 is a girl, well it will be hard to find a name that I love as much as DD#1 since its a family name.

I think #2 will be much harder...especially as LO makes more little friends (I joined a mommy group) and we start meeting people with names that we are considering...for example we loved the name Olivia but now I'm friends with two people with daughters named Olivia.

i'm not sure which was harder. i think you have more options with girl names. and since charlie has a jazz name, we first thought about keeping it in the jazz theme (ella, billie). but i knew that i wanted something cute for olive, and charlie's name is kinda cute too.

with both we didn't name them until we had to sign the birth certificate. both were tough!

Our first was easy. We name after deceased relatives so DH wrote down the names of deceased grandparents and great grandparents, and then he picked his favorite, and I loved it. I love all old people names so it worked well.

But the only other names that DH likes are very common right now, like #1 on both the boys and girls lists, so I don't want to use those. I don't mind common, but I don't want my child to have 5 other kids with their name in their class.

I'm not sure anymore. We had a girl's name picked out before we found out it was a boy. so I THOUGHT the next go around would be easy. But it turns out I'm just not sold on that girl's name, and we both have different ideas on girls' names. Another boy would be easy, because we're both sold on that name..

Second was definitely harder. The first one was pretty much a no brainer with us (family names). I still have minor regret that we used up two such beautiful names on Lala because her middle name would have made a great first name for our second girl. We also set the bar high with requirements that we wanted to fulfill the second time around because Lala's name fit the same criteria.

We thought long and hard about Mei Mei's name and ultimately think we made a great choice, especially with the nickname pairing.

Heaven help us if we ever have another girl, because there are no good names left (and @jholler 24: Harper Holler is already taken) ;)

We've got a boy's name ready to go, but we'll probably never use it!

Second will be harder. We were team green but my DH has decided that he doesn't want to use our first choice boy's name if #2 is a boy this time around...so back to the drawing board- we are finding out this time so we'll hold off on the conversation until we know the sex.

I think first, because you have sooo many options. Once you have one child, you kind of have a "theme" or a feel that you probably want to stick with, which helps narrow things down.

I think naming the second will be harder. With the first, if there are two names we love, I won't feel really bad about missing the chance to use one of them because I know there will be another baby that we can consider using it for. But we are likely to be two and through so I feel like there's more pressure with the second since we won't have any more babies to name!

Naming our first was difficult, but we came up with the perfect name for her. Naming #2 is going to be harder because we have to think of a name that's just as good!

Our first was pretty challenging because she's a girl. If she were a boy it would have been easy peasy! So next round...boy will be easy, if we have another girl it will probably be tough again!

Naming my LO was easy. DH and I never even really talked about what LOs name would be if she was a girl because we had one name that we knew we were going to use and so there was no discussion or uncertainty what it would be, it just was. Now that she is here I think about what her siblings names will be. and what will go with her name since its gender neutral. Naming my second LO will be much harder than naming my DD.

What will be harder for you? Did you consider your second LOs name when naming your first LO?
