I had a bad night's sleep and was planning on a morning nap when my contractions started. I sent my husband to work and proceeded to start mopping the floors and baking a pound cake. I needed something to keep my mind occupied!

I called my husband around 11:30am and told him to come home. When he arrived, we started lunch and then I decided I needed a bath. He started timing contractions and we realized they were closer than I thought, so he called the hospital to see if I should go in. We got to the hospital at 2:30pm and I was dilated 4 cm. I got to 10 in the next hour. I hadn't slept or eaten in 2 days by this point!

Still didn't come too close together until noon that day so we pIcked her up from the airport and headed straight to the hospital. NAK(just learned that acrOnym from other thread)

My water broke while I was sleeping. I slept for about another hour or so, then the contractions were so bad that I got up and called my mom and talked to her for about an hour before going to the hospital.

I was out apartment hunting with DH. We were walking around and I was getting back pains starting mid afternoon. He kept telling me they were contractions but I refused to believe him. We walked home and I sat down to rest. I called the hospital and they said to monitor them for an hour and call back. I went in around 9 and was already 4cm. DD was born at 1:40 am.

I was sitting on the couch watching tv with my husband and MIL. We had just gotten home from black friday shopping (we got up at 3am) around 11ish I started feeling contractions so I decided to try to rest as much as possible, DH put on the notebook as he hurried around trying to get things ready. It wasn't till around 5 that we went in but it was still early so they sent me home. We went to the mall in the morning to walk around and hopefully speed things up.... We went in again that evening and I was.finally dialated enough to stay. I gave birth at 12:59pm on Sunday.

It was 10 at night. I was just getting ready for bed.

So we ended up being up all night because we were so freaked out, excited, etc. I went to the hospital at 1 am, got sent home at 4 am, and went back at 5 and got admitted. My hubby was hoping not to go back, he was soooo tired. But I was in labor!

I woke up to go to the bathroom at 9am on Sunday. I had my bloody show, freaked out, and started to notice that I had some not so great cramps. Google to the rescue -- yup, those cramps were contractions. I went out with my husband to go eat breakfast as planned. I couldn't stay home for long, and I ended up going shopping the entire day. Once all the stores closed, we went driving around to pass the time. I could not stand being at home. Finally my contractions were getting closer, and we went to the hospital at midnight.

I was at home sleeping when I was woken by them. I'd even been to the doctor earlier that day for my weekly appointment and she said it could be anytime but it could be almost month out if I went past my due date. We decided to go to the hospital about 3 hours later.

I had been having decent BH for weeks, they'd wake me up I think because I had to pee but not really because they were painful. On Monday at 3 am I was sleeping but I woke up because I felt more tinging contractions, felt different than the other BH I'd been having. I almost thought we should go to the hospital then because some of the contractions were only 3 minutes apart. But then they slowed down.

There was less slow down over the day and more pain and then at 4 am the next morning I finally decided to stop pacing and lay down and within 5 min of laying down my water broke. So we went to the hospital.

What were you doing when you started feeling contractions? What were you doing when you finally decided to go to the hospital?

I started feeling contractions on a Sunday morning at home while getting ready for church. 17 hours later, while trying to rest in bed (it was 3am), we started getting ready to leave for the hospital. I was exhausted!
