Mixed feelings are definitely normal! I posted about it on the blog, but just go slow and follow LO's lead. Within a few months it was over, but totally gentle. He doesn't miss it and I am happy to be done, especially since I know he was ready.

I weaned at 11-months, and I was sad about it at first, but after a week or two I adjusted and it felt soooo nice to have my freedom back!! I didn't feel chained to a certain schedule or have to stress about where to nurse or pump.

It makes me sad because we don't plan on having any more kids. I LOOOOOOVE nursing my DD and I"m going miss it terrible. It's actually one of the main reasons why I'm still nursing. I just love our cuddly time together.

Following this thread! DD is 9 months today and I know I'm going to have to wean at some point, but it's already making me sad. I plan on continuing until we get pregnant with our next one and then hoping that DD weans herself. I never thought I would love BF'ing this much but I absolutely love it and hate the thought of giving up that special time with DD. Sigh.... hoping someone can chime in with some tips on how to make it easier!

ETA: I'm not pregnant yet, so we're still going strong with the BF'ing, but we are NTNP now so things could change any time.

I was sad about it and I thought I was cutting off my LO too early at 9 months. I was pregnant and my supply was gone!

LO is turning 1 in 3 weeks, and we will have officially reached my BFing goal. I had planned on starting to wean then, but now that it's so close, I'm finding myself feeling a little sad about it. I do plan to wean slowly, and drop feedings one at a time, but it seems like my supply keeps dropping more and more each month, so I'm not really sure how long I'll be able to drag it out. Part of me is excited to have my body back, not to mention not having to pump on work days (wooohoo!), but the other part of me is sad to lose that time with LO. How did you feel when it came time to wean? Any tips on how to make it easier on both of us?
