@PinkElephant: hopefully you will even get your cycle back in the time it takes to prove to your dr that you aren't pregnant so that you dont have to even have any interventions! When you get your cycle back varies for every person so I would give it a little bit of time, if you can wait that long :-)

Thanks, for the input, ladies. I spoke to my doctor yesterday and am seriously considering Provera - just need to go through a short waiting period so I can prove to her that I'm not pregnant before she can prescribe it. Acupuncture is a good suggestion and I think that would be my next step - TCM is very popular where I live so I'm sure it would be easy to find someone
@T-Mom: It is good to hear someone remind me that I DID stop breastfeeding relatively recently. It feels like ages to me, but I guess I am being pretty impatient. :) I just keep hearing all my mama friends talk about how they got their periods as soon as they dropped an overnight feed,

You could try acupuncture. I know there are definitely bees on here who have bad success getting a cycle after acupuncture, and a friend of mine got hers after her first session, after a long time without. Not sure how well in this case it would work since you just stopped bf so recently but worth a try!

Acupuncture? It has the added benefit of improving the quality of your eggs and blood flow to the uterus too...

Still trying for #1 here, but Provera might be the fastest way to kick start AF. And depending on how much weight you've lost, maintaining a higher weight could help regulate things in the long run - I find that things get messed up when I get too low or work out too much. But unless you're talking about ten or twenty pounds, it may not make a huge difference. Hope this helps and good luck!

I never thought I'd be wishing for my period, but hubby & I are ready to try for baby #2, and I'm getting antsy waiting for my cycles to start again. LO is 10 months old, and I completely stopped breastfeeding/pumping about 2.5 months ago. Have been to a doctor for blood tests and a pelvic ultrasound and everything looks "normal"....so according to her my options are to wait it out or induce a bleed to try to kick start my period.

Does anyone have experience with either natural (foods to eat, reflexology, etc.) or chemical (ie provera) ways to get their periods going again after pregnancy that they would be willing to share? Or anyone who needed to put on weight (breast feeding has left me skinnier than before)/cut back on exercise to get pregnant for the second time around?
