My 14 month old is going through a super picky phase right now and I'm struggling with this! The only things he will eat consistently are fruit/veg pouches (not the all veg ones), peanut puffs, granola bars, and yogurt melts. He used to eat meat and cheese really well, but now refuses it. Sometimes he'll eat cut up fruit but often he wont. He doesn't like mac and cheese, pasta, PB&J, hummus, grilled cheese, beans, grapes, apples, any veggies, yogurt not in a pouch...Ugh.

My oldest is very picky but will usually eat pb &j or Pb on crackers, vanilla yogurt and fruit.

We have a picky 2.5 year old - granted she's gotten better the past few months, but it's still rough. At that age she would eat a ton of hummus, and has always been a big fan of pasta which gave me the chance to sneak different veggies/purees into the sauce and meatballs. And peanut butter - allllways peanut butter.

Yogurt and bananas are his go to!

We're really trying not to be short order cooks. I have specific things I offer each night. If he doesn't want those, he doesn't get something else. He'll protest and throw things on the floor initially, and he'll try to get into the pantry to get us something else, but I'll just tell him no and offer what we had. He gets mad at first, but then realizes I'm not kidding, and will start eating what I made him.

Ugh I have the pickiest of toddlers. Yogurt never fails. Although he usually only eats a few spoon fills then smears the rest on the table. And if I'm really desperate, hotdogs.

Pasta is successful 90% of the time. 100% is peanut butter - either just peanut butter on a spoon (for a snack) or a PB&J sandwich (for a meal).

DS is like that - won't eat nonsnack, nonfruit foods 2 days in a row. It's like he's secretly saying I already ate that mom why are we eating it again. On Sunday he loved the turkey (we had a late thanksgiving dinner, but on tues he wouldn't touch it). It's hard to find him something hearty and nutritious to eat when we're eating leftovers.

@catgirl: The problem is I never know what she's going to like on a given day! Goldfish are the only constant. Everything else she loves on Monday, hates on Tuesday. I guess she's not so much picky as has intense cravings! :)

@junebugsmama: Tried those tonight. Despite loving them in the past, wouldn't touch them.

@youboots: DD loves raspberries, but will only eat them in the driveway from our raspberry bushes, and we live in a climate with a short growing season!

Oh well, we'll keep playing "guess what you want to eat." Like I said, she still eats pretty healthy and she does love pouches (as long as they have a green cap - ha!) so I'm not worried from a nutritional perspective. I think I'm just having a hard time adjusting to having a toddler with opinions!

Beans & rice, mac & cheese, and pretzels. Thankfully, she's not very picky - she usually will eat anything, BUT she eats like a freaking ant. Like 2 bites and she says she's full.

when he is in an especially picky phase we do smoothies because you can sneak in lots of healthy things - yogurt, fruit and spinach, avocado, broccoli....

he'll also almost always eat cheese, bread, peanut butter, cucumbers with some encouragement, and blueberries or grapes (cut up)

DD is almost 2 and getting less picky but for awhile it was pretty tough. The foods she would always eat - plain pasta (preferably a fun shape), cheese cubes, berries, chicken sausage, peas, broccoli, bread, and sweet potatoes. We always offered one thing she liked and would rotate other things.

Our 16 month old has recently gotten very picky. She'll be clearly starving but refuse to eat anything until we figure out the exact food she's been craving. Which varies from day to day. And of course she's only got a few words, none of which are food products :bummed:

What will your picky toddler always eat? Any ideas for helping her tell us what she wants? I'm not worried about her not eating enough, but she gets really fussy when she's hungry and drives us nuts!
