Mine are all very cheesy because I'm a teacher and am terrified of slipping up in the classroom if I use anything remotely close to the original.

We're working on substitutes for my husband to use because he's really, really bad about getting frustrated or upset and blurting out GDMF'er and not even realizing it. I'm convinced it will be the first words out of our daughter's mouth.

We say Holy Curmudgeon or Holy Crow (and now Lala says them too). Those are the ones I can think of right now, though I'm sure there are others!

Mother of Pearl! tends to be my substitute expression :) Also, I use gosh instead of God (don't want the kids to say it, so we can't say it either!).

p.s. Mother of Pearl is an expression that can be muttered under your breath or shouted in times of exasperation. It is an all-around great phrase ;)

Fudge/fudgesicles
Darn/Dang
Vindictive petty pathological liar (instead of "b" - there's only one person in my life that the word applies to.)
Peeved/Peevish
Crap
Heck/Hey
I still need to replace a*hole in my driving lexicon (that's the only time I use that. Same with "f* off" and "f*tard") Rat bastard is also harder to replace.
I DO use bloody.
Also favorites are "Pifflediff!" and "Horse biscuits!" My grandpa used "road apples", but I can't get behind that one.

Poop face.
Poop!
Monkey butt.

It's kind of satisfying just because it's hilarious/silly.

I married a marine, and partway through the pregnancy we tried to start subbing out some of our curse words. We used to curse a LOT. Seriously, marines curse worse than sailors.

I say, "What the eff"... pretty subtle huh. Also: effing, effed, and very rarely: effer.

Sometimes I say "shoot" instead of its curse word equivalent... that's not a very good substitute. Darn is an old staple, although I rarely if ever say damn. In general, I find substituting words for curse words to be very unsatisfying haha!!

What words do you substitute for curse words?
