At that age I would just push past the crankiness and stick to your regular schedule (unless he is sick?). But my LO doesn't show any sleep cues and if I were to put him down just because he was cranky he would eventually fall asleep but take a cat nap that would screw up the rest of our day.

My DS woke up early this morning because he had pooped. He went down for a nap, slept for 1 hour, and woke up again because he pooped. I thought maybe he would be up but was just really cranky and wouldn't play at all. So, I put him back down. He is currently fussing and crying in his crib in protest and I am not sure if he will actually go back to sleep or not so I am questioning what to do.

Would you try to put him back down or get him up and suffer through a cranky and tired morning? (DS is 10 months old and usually on a 2 nap schedule)
