@Mrs.Someone: Thank you! I think I'll end up doing pretty much exactly what you suggested. And good to know on the 12-13 dpo! I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again

I don't think you should do either option exactly. I would take OPKs for the next few days and see what happens. If you O, great. If it seems like its not happening, then stick with your plan to start the Progesterone. Also, keep in mind that taking the progesterone while potentially pregnant won't hurt (it may even help)! Just make sure to take an HPT before stopping it.

And I wouldn't trust an HPT until at least 12-13dpo, I didn't get my :bfp: until then.

@CupQuakeWalk: Seems like a great reason to get some more FRERs! I've got a bunch of wondfos, but I think it's worth the extra $$ in this case. Adding it to my shopping list  And yes, if AF decides to show on her own, all plans go out the window! My last cycle was 79 days, so I'm not expecting to see her any time soon, but she wouldn't be completely unwelcome!

@ABCmrs: the 30th will be about 9-10 dpo, so if you use a first response early test, I think you'll get some sort of line by then if that is the case:) And you really never know, you may get a natural period before then too.

@HolisticMama: Thanks for the input! Since I'm new to the concept of trying to track ovulation, I wasn't sure what sort of time lapse I should expect between EWCM and a positive OPK. I will keep using OPKs in case something changes.

@MaryM: I hadn't thought about the Progesterone not being too big an issue if I do decide to take it. Thank you for responding

@bhbee: I've been trying to keep track of CM since maybe June 2013, and I've never experienced anything like I did yesterday morning. So I don't know! It was super obvious when I wiped two different times, and I was so shocked to actually see it! I'd wondered about EWCM before, but this qualified, without a doubt! Which also means that I don't know for sure what it means  Either way - O or AF, I'm glad to see it!

@CupQuakeWalk: Thank you for sharing your experience! It definitely helps to hear from others who have been through this before.

I think what we've decided to do (Hubs is super supportive & helps me talk through this crazy stuff  ) is keep using OPKs between now and 3/30. If I never get a positive (or near positive), I'll continue with the original plan, and POAS/start Progesterone on the 30th. If I get a positive OPK, we'll reevaluate!

Thanks for helping me think through all of this! Y'all are the best!

@ABCmrs: I'd personally wait. I'm trying to answer as if this is me, and it has been me.
I'd wait and also: I'd give it 7dpo and get my prog checked to see if it was ovulation.
Also: if start testing with a free very early on (like 8dpo). By then: your doctor would have let you know your prog levels anyway and you can know whether you O'd or not & whether it worth going out to buy the tests or not.
One cycle: mine was 5.3 at 7dpo which prompted me to crack open my progesterone and end my cycle.

Do you ever get ewcm close to your period? Sometimes for me it is a sign AF is around the corner. Could be a reason to wait, hopefully it means ovulation or impending AF, which would also allow you to move ahead.
But I understand not wanting to delay for sure!

Maybe wait? Or can you call your doctor?

If you do get KU, it's not like the progesterone would hurt anything (many women take it in early pregnancy if they're not producing enough...especially those with PCOS)

Tough call.
For the last three months, I have gotten my EWCM three days before a positive OPK.
I'd probably wait. Two weeks isn't that much longer to wait in my book.

I'll try to sum up my situation in as few words as I can:
I was diagnosed with PCOS via blood work & ultrasound earlier this month. My doctor told me to wait out my current cycle, and if I didn't get my period by CD28ish, to start Progesterone. Then, on CD3, to start Clomid. My period never came, and I never got a positive OPK, but decided to delay Progesterone to try and time my next cycle around a business trip. Currently CD35.

Then, yesterday, on CD34, I experienced my first-ever EWCM, in the morning. OPKs were negative yesterday afternoon and this morning. (We're BD EOD, per doctor's recommendation.)

My original plan, before the EWCM showed up, was to start Progesterone on 3/30 (again, hoping to avoid ovulation while I'm out of town). But the EWCM makes me uncertain. It's the only sign I have that maybe I ovulated (am ovulating?). But I don't want to start the Progesterone too early if there is a possibility I could get KU'd this cycle on my own. It would just mean delaying the Progesterone until 4/4, probably, and I'd POAS before starting it to be sure I'm not KU'd. But I don't know if I want to wait the extra 6 days to get my next cycle started.

What would you do? (note: due date doesn't matter at all to us. This cycle would give me a December due date, which I know some people want to avoid, but that's not a factor for us!)

Thanks for your input!
