That's really amazing that you have so many photos that date way back in your family history! I think a photo book or album is perfect. Organize everything in chronological order and add dates and text where appropriate. You could also provide a thumb drive of the scans so that they can access/print more if they want.

I agree digitizing then would be great, then they could be shared with two people, or more. For the gift, how about a small photo book, with the disc or thumb drive of all the photos placed inside?

How about a frame with pictures of the women in your family, from great grandparents down to your daughter? One of those multi opening frames.

I'm sorry for your loss.

@Raindrop: Yes, I scanned them all to make the slideshow for her service. I'll have to go through a photoshop some though, since they date all the way back to about WW1

Are they digitalized yet?

I think making a nice photo book is nice.

For my mom, she loved that I scanned all her old pictures and put them on her phone and tablet so she can look at them whenever she wanted and share them and have them with her at all times.

My grandmother passed away right after Easter from pancreatic cancer. The women in my family were all very close and my mother gave me a basket of tons of old photos dating back to my great-grandparents wedding photos to make a slideshow of my grandmother's life for her memorial. I have pictures of every person on that side of the family, including my mom's two brothers who are also dead.

So now I have these pictures.... and I want to do something with them for my mom and my aunt for Christmas. I just really feel the need to honor my grandmother in some way since this is our first Christmas without her. I think my mom and my aunt would like it too. I know this year has been rough for them .

Im not opposed to spending to make a nice photo album/photobook for them, but I was hoping for something slightly more creative. Budget is about $150 to do something for both of them.

So, what would you all do with a bunch of old photos?
