Thanks everyone!!!! Great suggestions!

@looch: Yes, I'm positive that she's nursing. I know what you mean though- I know I would've had a hard time receiving stuff like that when I was struggling with DS. Definitely something to consider.

Are you sure she's nursing? If she's not or is having a hard time, getting a package in the mail with gear could be the last thing she needs.

If she is, disregard what I wrote.

If she's nursing you could add in booby pads and a nice nursing cami.

It would be nice if you get put some sleep, some patience, some self-esteem and some more sleep in there.

J/K:) Your list sounds really good. If it is in the budget, maybe a warm robe? Those mid-night feedings are chilly!

My best friend just had her first baby on Monday of this week! Unfortunately she lives across the country from me so I can't visit/help/take her things immediately. I'd like to send her a first time mom survival kit package ASAP. She had a pretty rough delivery and her husband is going to have to travel for work fairly soon. They're also prepping for a cross country move. Soooo I'd like to give her practical things that she'll need/could use but that aren't bulky and difficult to pack or move.

What did you use a lot when your first baby was a newborn? I'm thinking nipple cream, gas drops, chapstick (for mama), some larabars, a nice water bottle, boogie wipes....I don't know!

I'm also definitely going to include an outfit and some hairbows since they were team green (and sure that baby would be a boy) and it's a girl!
