We do still have the limited plumbing of an older home (all along one wall, laundry area, kitchen and bathroom are right over each other), but the electrical system was upgraded and we have duct work, not a boiler heater. It has a small entry room that is separated from the living room by original to the house french doors. I was sold. </p> <p>500 sq feet is worth it. I don't honestly think we will be here long enough to make that kind of investment. The kitchen is number one, and that would include taking down a wall and some semi-major construction,, but the added value would be amazing for resale &amp; we'd enjoy kitchen as well. The area that we live in is one of the only places in our county where housing prices have gone up, mainly due to easy access to public transportation.
