I'm reading "Uprooted" right now - if you like fantasy and strong female characters, you won't be able to put it down.

@Pancakes: ditto on Dark Places! Loved Gone Girl, but it had more mystery and finesse. Dark Places just seemed, well, dark!

@winter_wonder: I didn't like the characters! Josie I found confusing - she's the wild child disappointment who's also a first grade teacher and desperately wants a baby? And I didn't get her relationship with Gabe, I found it inconsistent. And Meredith was horrible and unpleasant and I wanted her to fall in a manhole. I thought things were introduced and dropped (Gabe's girlfriend hated her and then...didn't!) and I thought the whole ending with everybody furious at her for what happened was ridiculous.

Sorry, that turned into a rant!

I recently read The Girls, and while I wouldn't call it 5 star it was really well written, fun to read, and thought provoking for me.

Now I'm reading the girl with the dragon tattoo, which I somehow still hadn't read after all this time.

@csross217: Oh dear, I did not like Dark Places at all. When I was done, I wished that I had never read it, to be honest. Way too graphic for my tastes.

I just finished Liane Moriarty's new book, Truly Madly Guilty. It was just okay. I didn't care for it as much as some of her other books. I picked up The Hypnotist's Love Story for another light pre-bedtime read, but I'm not far enough along to make a judgment yet. I'm hoping to finish The Nightingale next.

@Bao: I do like the series a lot but maybe a little too sci-fi for me with all the space stuff. It gets confusing to keep track of who is who in the book also. But I got far enough in that I couldn't put them down either.

It's stunning. Have you checked out the author's Pinterest account? She has boards for the fan art for the books and let me just say - fangirlsquee!!

@Bao: It. Is. Amazing. I am seriously in love with the author and I actually started by reading her other series before this one. Her other series is newer, A Court of Thorn and Roses, and after reading her second book in -that- series I had to have more. I hate cliffhangers but they're such good cliffhangers
