nagging. i think.
What bothers me is just the double standard. He asks me to do something... so I do it (eventually) but when I ask him to do it... it's suppose to be "my thing" and he starts numbering all the things he does in the house/yard. So annoying.

I keep telling it's not a competition and we are a team. Still working on that, after 8 years.

2 days ago, after we put mavi to bed, I told him... do you want to clean up the kitchen together. It will go faster. You pick up the stuff off the table and empty the dishwasher, I will do the dishes and load the dishwasher.

OMG..... it took literally 10 mins and we could both relax afterward. Versus me doing it all and it taking 30+ mins. This was a BIG BIG BIG WIN. And I said thank you (can't forget the praise)

Another one for nagging. I'd say for both of us that would be the most frequent "negative interaction."

@Rubies: DH is the same! Except he says "I'll do it soon" Which can be any sorts of time.

Same as above, most of our negative interactions are me nagging about a chore or calling his parents.

A negative interaction between us is usually when I can't get a definite out of him. Ie: "Hun, you said you'd help me move this stuff to the basement." "Yeah, I'll do it later." "When later?" "Later later". Then I get mad.

Or, when he books our time without consulting me (ie. lunch with his parents on a weekend).

We are fortunate enough to not have many negative interactions.
When we do it's because I am nagging about something and he gets tired of it. Or because I say something that I don't feel is a big deal and he gets sensitive about it.

Like some of the others it's usually if I'm nagging hubs to do something I have asked him to do and it still isn't done. And then on his end sometimes he can be a little dramatic and overreact to things which annoys me.

@chopsuey119: haha exactly! I try really hard not to nag, but bugs and spiders are where I draw the line.

@chopsuey119: same here, I've been begging DH to coordinate times with the exterminator who sprays for bugs. DH works random hours so sometimes he's home during the day (whereas I work teacher hours), so it makes sense for him to figure out which day he'll be home for the guy to come.

Last week, I had an interaction with a spider and a bug on my ARM in my BED. Last night, there was a "waterbug" crawling around the bathroom sink. Its pretty hot and humid already, so I knew the bugs would start coming out. I think I made it clear that he's supposed to call today lol.

Disagreements about the dogs, when I pick on him for something that I shouldn't say anything about, having too much planned in a week or a day always causes tension.

Negative interactions really only happen when I get annoyed and nag about something Dh doesn't do.
1. Locking door
2. Not closing toilet lid before flushing
3 not taking trash out when I ask etc :)
