@LovelyPlum: I don't have too much of a choice this cycle since I'll see the RE after I ovulate  so I will give it this cycle.

@PurplePumps: I haven't done clomid yet, so I may ask if that would be a benefit next cycle.

@msmug: I've heard a lot of people get a bfp after their HSG, so that's my hope! So sorry about your loss.

I got pregnant naturally after my hsg. It unfortunately ended in m/c but I do think it helped. I have a friend that also got pregnant after her hsg. So I think it Is possible. And the nurse who was part of my hsg told me to "have lots of sex" after the hsg so there's probably some truth to it helping women get pregnant.

@MrsTal: We've been trying since fall 2012 also. I had my HSG done in Oct, and on my 3rd cycle after that, so that more fertile after an HSG didn't work for me. All my bloodwork and DH's SA came back in normal range also. I was in the middle of a natural cycle when I finally met with an RE with a 14mm follicle so we were just going to let this cycle run it's course, and check progesterone 7dpo. If this doesn't work, she wants to put me on 100mg Clomid (again, I did 2 unmonitored cycles @ 50mg with my OB before I got passed to the RE) and monitor this time. She said that if 4-5 cycles of Clomid don't do the trick, Clomid isn't the answer and we may try a Femera. I may also ask for IUI with next round of Clomid if this cycles another BFN.

@MrsTal: I'm glad it went well! I'm not sure what's next, because my HSG cycle was my lucky one, even though my tubes were clear. Maybe give it this cycle and see from there? But I could also totally see if you want to be more aggressive.

@CatchAFallingStar: All my blood work looked normal, don't remember the exact levels at the moment but i checked them at the time I got the results with what I could find online and they were good. We've been ttc since fall 2012, with some NTNP for a few months before that, I'm 27.

@ShootingStar: Ahhh! That's so great. Happy for you!!

It's so hard because I have no idea what's causing my infertility. I don't have PCOS, I ovulate regularly, my levels are OK and husband has good sperm. UGH. So frustrating!!

Oh, and my tubes are clear, too.

@CatchAFallingStar: Well I had PCOS and didn't ovulate, so what worked for me was 7mg Femara, with 75iu Gonal-F (injectable), Ovidrel trigger shot, and timed intercourse. It took some experimenting with meds to get it right over 5ish months and 4 cycles. Baby boy is 8.5 weeks old :-).

@MrsTal: I had my HSG in November and, so far, no luck. I was SO hopeful that the rumors about HSG making women more fertile were true!! Maybe they will be for you!

@MrsTal: Yay! Great news on the HSG. What are your hormone levels, such as FSH and Progesterone? Have you had those tests? (I haven't read through the comments yet, so forgive me if you've already answered this!)

@MrsTal: If it was me, I'd tell him you want more aggressive treatment. I think it's kind of bull to say you're more fertile after an HSG if there was no blockage. But that's me!

@twodoghouse: I've had all that blood work done and everything was good.

@ShootingStar: cycles are regular. His thought was that the HSG should make me more fertile for a few months so I should try that. But that was also in September and I want to move on and try something different because it's obviously not working.

Do you ovulate regularly? I'd push for medication if you don't. I assume you're seeing an RE because you've been trying for a while, so if it was me I would not want to spend more cycles trying naturally. If your tubes had been blocked, that's one thing. But since they weren't, you're just tacking on more months of doing exactly what you have been. Are you ok with that?

When I had my HSG done I was already having medicated cycles and we just kept doing what we were doing with the meds since my tubes weren't blocked either.

Glad your HSG was clear! Have you done day 3 or 7dpo testing? That's what my dr went to next. I can't remember everything that you test for (bloodwork) with the day 3 testing, but 7dpo testing (commonly called CD21 testing although it doesn't always fall on day 21!) checks to see if your progesterone is going up normally during the luteal phase. That should determine if you're ovulating normally.

So I had my HSG today and my tubes are clear! Yay! I'm wondering what the next steps are and my consult isn't for two weeks. I know my RE said in September that he would like me to try naturally for a few cycles after the HSG but I'm wondering if I should push for additional testing, I'm just not sure what's next. Any ideas?

My blood work and DH SA was normal, btw.
