@winniebee: This is basically the recipe I used: http://www.fivehearthome.com/2015/01/04/slow-cooker-loaded-baked-potato-soup/

I may have had more potatoes (I had a 5# bag that had a few missing), threw in about half a head of smashed garlic (just enough to get the peel off easily), plus a small, roughly chopped (like into 8ths, maybe) onion. When I got home I took out about 2 cups of the liquid and pureed it with the immersion blender, then added the liquid back in (I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be too thin). Stirred in extra sharp cheese, sour cream, and heavy cream (instead of the milk, because my doctor told me to be indulgent), plus some extra salt, about half a lb of cooked, diced bacon (I like it in the soup and on top), and a couple of tablespoons of hot sauce (my secret ingredient, lol).

When I make it on the stove it's chunkier, but I liked the creaminess of this one. If not for the big pieces of garlic and onion I may have left it a little chunky in the slow cooker, but eh, I'm not disappointed :)
