@purplelilac: yeah I am concerned about that, and that’s why I got my older daughter a quilt to begin with. But I like the look of the duvet i got better than any quilts I can find so I’m going to cross my fingers... she has thrown up from coughing but only once in her crib. Frankly I’ll my more worried about the carpet at that point anyway.

We had a duvet/comforter set for my first child, but then we learned she is a barfer (even a cold makes her throw up when she is coughing). So we changed paths and got a light quilt and a fleece blanket instead- way easier to
Machine wash and re-make the bed. Kid 2 in the same bed isn’t a puker but I’ve stuck with this approach and I like it better than trying to get those silly corners into a duvet.

we've been happy with the ikea duvets - i think we have the mid-low range ones for the kids? we definitely throw them in the wash and dryer. for our bed we have a nicer ikea one (down filled) and it's pretty good.

@Foodnerd81: not 100% sure, but it's probably the $10 one! :silly: I remember they were rolled up and packaged, instead of laying flat like some of the other ones. It's pretty thin, but we also have quilts on the kids bed, so we only use the duvets in winter, between the sheets and the quilt.

However, they have been through pee accidents and have definitely been washed and dried.

Inside DS’s duvet is my old college comforter (still going strong after 17 years- its covered in sharpie marks and nail polish but since it’s inside the cover it doesn’t matter) from the Company Store. They have varying weights for their comforters which is nice since we use it year round.

Hey it’s me. Still overthinking my 3 year olds bed.

I have a duvet cover I’m thinking about keeping for her twin size bed. But I need a comforter or something to put inside it. It doesn’t have to be super warm since her room is always warmer than her sister’s. But something a little bit fluffy.

Mostly I want something easy to wash and dry and not expensive or super fluffy. The reviews of the cheap ikea ones complain that they are only stitched in rows so the stuffy bunches up too much. And I believe they can’t be dried. I had to wash my older daughters fairly cheap comforter and it handled the washer and dryer (on low) just fine, which was nice.

Thanks for any recommendations. When I finally finish her room I owe you all pictures. 😊
