If you want to be really specific I think they're called a "moroccan pouf" - thats the brightly coloured leathery look ones anyway :-)

@NaturallyCathy: no problem! I made it more complicated than it needed to be - with no zipper I think it's actually a pretty simple project if you're not trying to line up a print perfectly or something. The hardest part was cutting out the long pieces in my tiny apartment! Feel free to write on my wall if you use that pattern and have any questions!!

@scg00387: Thank you ma'am. I'm bookmarking it along with Mrs. Hopscotch's tutorial so that when we finally get in the new house, between the two of you, I might be able to figure this out! I'm not a very good sewer but that's from lack of practice more than anything. I can't wait to have a space that I can set up for all my office and craft needs :) Soooo excited.

@Leialou: And double thanks for the DIY via Mrs. Hopscotch! I think it'll be my first project when I get my sewing room/office. It'll be perfect for the nursery and living room in our new house.

I think it's just called a pouf. Mrs. Hopscotch blogged about making one for Baby H's nursery.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have no idea how to search for them beyond 'poofy ottoman'. I think Young House Love DIYed one though, maybe for Clara's nursery?

Okay. I've been seeing these little poof things every where and I can't figure out where you find them! Maybe I'm just stuck in the dark ages but I have no idea what they're called. They seem to be popular in the nurseries found on Project Nursery.

So they're in front of a rocker. They're ottomans, footstools, whatever you call them. They're round, puffy looking, and they're either done in clothe or knitted/crocheted somehow. They look super comfy for feet and great for kids but I can't figure out how to search for them, where you find them, or how much they usually run, etc... I mean, can you DIY them?

Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?
