I have both a woven and a SSC, and a mei tai. So far I like the mei tai best. The wrap has a pretty big learning curve, imo. And the Beco I have doesn't seem to be any better on my back than the mei tai. IDK if it's the buckles hitting in weird places, or if I just like the fact that the mei tai gets tied at your waist, and the Beco goes at your hips.

I think it depends. My soft wrap is comfy for dd but if I don't place her high enough or tie it tight enough it's too loose for me. The ergo gives me back/shoulder pain if I wear it for too long.

I have a boba and find I sometimes have to play with the straps to get a more supportive carry. Maybe try adjusting things a little bit? I also use a mei tai, and any kind of extended carrying eventually will tire my back out.

I actually think a woven wrap would give you more support. You would be able to do different passes to alleviate some of the pressure just being on one part of your body. For instance a chest pass, spreading the shoulder, etc. I tend to have more back pain with SSC's

Do you think that the twisting/turning involved in wrapping and putting on a woven wrap would be a problem? I feel like it's really easy to put on my structured carrier....I don't have a woven wrap (i have a ring sling made from one, though), but I was just wondering

Ditto what the PPs said. I would try to check out one of each, but a woven would give you more options to play with.

Both are pretty supported as long as you're using them and adjusting them correctly. A woven wrap would give you more to play with in terms of finding the right carry for your specific needs.

I think they are both pretty supportive as long as her weight is balanced. Can you borrow one of each and see?

my back pain is kind of out of control after i foolishly twisted and maneuvered the car seat with the baby strapped in out of the back seat of my two-door pick up truck. when i carry her in my arms i thrust my hips forward, and at the end of the day it feels like my lower back is swollen double the size. Wearing her at least I keep my hips in line with my shoulders.

I have a boba, which is like an ergo, and it gives me shoulder pain. I used to have a intense shoulder pain from standing at a computer all day.
