We did pureed avocado and sweet potato. I was waiting 3 days between foods but Lucie's List says that's not necessarily required anymore so I'll probably start waiting less time. I really like this website: http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/

Thank you Ladies for all your advice. That cleared things up for me. Now I don't feel as lost.
Just wondering though. When you started solids what did you start with? Rice/Oatmeal, puree's of veggies, fruit or meat? What was your starting food? And how long did you give the same food before introducing something else?. There's so much info out there I just want to know what REAL moms did. Not what Drs say.

Agree with others! Breast milk or formula until 12 months and then you can switch to cow's milk or another alternative milk (my son Xander is allergic to cow's milk, so he's going to be going on hemp milk).

congrats on your breastfeeding journey going well!

the general rule in the U.S. is breast milk or formula under 1 year old, and after that they can have whole cow milk. of course, some people choose to breastfeed for longer, and i have heard in other countries that formula is the norm even into toddlerhood.

@MamaPhoenix: We BF'd until 13 months, but slowly started introducing whole cow's milk and hemp milk right at 12 months. Now at 14 months he's exclusively getting WCM and hemp milk.

ETA: Congrats on almost reaching your goal!

@MamaPhoenix: I think most people stop formula at 1 and switch to Whole cow milk or something else.

I'm hoping with things going good right now to continue BF until a year. Would she still need formula after that? How long are FF babies on formula for?

At six months you would go to formula. Cow's milk and other milk alternatives aren't recommended until after one year.

Hi Bee's.
I currently EBF my DD. She's 5 months today. In the beginning I set a goal to EBF if successful for 6 months. After a lip/tongue tie latch issues and a supply drop and having to take Domperidone to get er up and running again, I feel like things are good and I can keep going. We are introducing solids at 6 months and hopefully things go a lot easier.
What I'd like to know is, what do you give your little one once Breastmilk is done? especially if you wean at 6 months. Do they go on formula? Cow milk? Water?
Sorry first time mom here!
