We are going to my ILs and they do a pretty standard meal:

Turkey
Stuffing
Cranberry sauce
Sweet potatoes with pecans on too
Oatmeal rolls
Mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole ( Alton brown)
Roasted root vegetables and cauliflower
Bourbon pecan pie
Pumpkin pie

I also want to try making homemade butter. A salad sounds nice too. I always see these great thanksgiving recipes, but they aren't really recipe people! Just kind of do your own thing.

I'm only cooking for me and H so I'm trying not to go too overboard! Right now the menu is:

Herb-roasted turkey breast with pan gravy
Chorizo and cornbread stuffing
Green bean casserole
Candied sweet potatoes
Homemade cranberry sauce
Rolls
Maple pumpkin pie

I'm still debating mashed potatoes. They aren't really necessary, but...I like them :-)

No one does cornbread anymore? We've never done rolls or bread (beyond the stuffing), but cornbread is a staple for us! I use it like a little square of sheet cake and drizzle cranberry sauce over it. Mmm...

I am still working out the side dishes but I am planning I make a medeterrainian style whole fish for thanksgiving dinner. Kind of a nod to the native Americans plus healthy. Medeterrainian spices are my fave so I did that just to keep it tastes. I think I may also make some cous cous with yellow raisins and almonds in it. Figuring out the rest as I go but I have some ideas.

We're hosting this year, and I'm feeling very... hungry. I want to make it all, like every dish I can possibly think of. I know I'm being a wee bit insane but I want to eat leftovers forever and I just really feel like cooking!

So this is my tentative menu (though sanity will likely win out and I'll pare it down a bit):

Ginger Punch
Veggie Tray with Yogurt Dip
Turkey (and veggie turkey for us)
Gravy
Stuffing
Mushroom Wild Rice
Cranberry Sauce
Garlic & Herb Mashed Potatoes
Hearty Winter Greens Sauté
Spice Toasted Cauliflower and Artichokes
Lemon Herb Roasted Beets
Balsamic Roasted Carrots
Parmesan Roasted Green Beans
Broiled Lemon Brussels Sprouts
Maple Pecan Roasted Butternut & Sweet Potatoes
Mushroom & Leek Bread Pudding
Parmesan Scalloped Potatoes
Macaroni & Cheese Casserole
Razzleberry Pie
Pumpkin Cheesecake

Am I forgetting anything awesome? What are you making for Thanksgiving?
