I just got whatever set was on sale at the time. It's a huge set with a ton of bridges. Somewhere along the way we also accumulated an IKEA set (also compatible). We bought a Brio battery powered locomotive and it works perfectly on the tracks. Once we realized he loved it so much, we got the off brand expansion packs on Amazon.<br /> Then found an amazing Craigslist deal for like $75 for hundreds of pieces. I'm leaning toward the Brio brand because I know it's great quality and would last through multiple kids. My question is, for those of you that have trains, which set would you suggest we start with? There are so many options! We aren't planning on getting her a huge train set off the bat just in case she doesn't end up playing with it a ton, but want to have enough tracks and accessories to pique her interest. </p>
