Before we were married, I adopted a dog that DH was not too thrilled about, but he supported me because it made me happy. I had wanted to get another dog eventually, but never brought it up because I didn’t want to push my luck. He ended falling in love with the little pup! A couple years later, he surprised me by saying he thought our dog was lonely and needed a friend. A week before Christmas, we picked out our second puppy together and spent our vacation taking care of her! And with DS, we were able to share the news at Christmas...it was a present for my ILs, haha! And he was born a few weeks before DH's birthday, so I told him DS was his birthday present, lol.</p> <p>@Rainbow Sprinkles: That's so sweet! He gave me a card that said "can't wait for you to teach me how to camp. Now you have no excuse!" It's very wide...we can both sit on it together with a bit of space left over. We'd seen it in a store and sat in it for a minute, and he went back and got it without me knowing a few days later. </p> <p>He said that when we were sitting there all he could picture was us cuddling and reading to our eventual LO, who would fit perfectly in the space between us). </p> <p>The chair is worth it's weight in gold around here now, by the way. The last weeks I was pregnant it was the only way I could sleep, and me and DS are in for at least some of every day. When he was first born and wouldn't sleep unless I was holding him and I was too scared to co-sleep in bed I could doze off in the reclined chair holding him. And sometimes now we'll both doze off while I'm nursing him...DH will come home and find me sprawled in it with DS asleep using my breast as a pillow. </p> <p>What's the best/most meaningful gift you've received from your SO? (Not counting engagement/wedding rings). </p>
