@Mrs. Pen: I think he may be coming out of it. It's been a few rough months since dropping his nap and potty training.

Definitely have had plenty of days start before or right at 5. 6 is normal, anything later than that is glorious!

Hmm 6:30 probably. Our day doesn't start until at least 7 though.

Oh wait! 5:50 for DD last weekend but she came into my bed and rested/slept until her brother woke at 7:45. During this time DH and I were snoozing since she just curls next to me.

ETA- she would've gone back to sleep in her room but in my sleep haze I thought it was 6:50 so technically it was my fault.

She's done in the 4 O'clock hour and it's awful. Usually if she wakes up before 5:30 or so, if Dh or I go in and snuggle with her in the bed in her room (she's in a crib but we have our old guest bed still in there) she will go back to sleep until a reasonable hour. But sometimes she just can't settle down and it's so painful.

Unfortunately lately her wake up time has been too close to six for my liking. She used to sleep past seven and it was heaven.

Dd woke up for the day at 4:45 today. Probably her earliest ever, even though she didn't go to bed that early. It sucks cause she wakes up so grumpy and won't sleep more. I held her hand in her crib until 6 and she relaxed on there but no more sleep. :-(

She's always gotten up before 6 when she sleeps through the night.

5:10-5:15ish. DS is 9 months old. His usual wakeup time, sadly, is about 5:30-5:45.

3:45 one time. That was a rough day. Otherwise I think the earliest has prob been 545 or so. She hasn't typically been an early riser though (earliest "normal" time was 615 and I think thats pretty good for a baby).

@Mrs. Pen: Tyler's teacher told me today that around 3/3.5 you will see periods of 2 months of poor sleep and then 2 months of normal sleep because of brain development and large muscle development. T had been in a bad cycle for almost 2m so I will be curious to see if her theory pans out.

I think there was once or twice around 5-5:30 am. For the most part he's always been a late sleeper, like 7:30-8am. But he just started waking between 6-6:30 now and it's a big adjustment for us! He's crankier now, doesn't go to bed any earlier, and in not sure how to get him to sleep a little later!

My daughter woke up for the day at 4:30 for a few months. Changing bedtime didn't seem to do anything. It seemed to be hunger related. That was about a year ago and she's back with the 4:30 wakeups again. At least this time she'll go back to bed after crying for 10 min or so until 5:30. Mama is about to pop out #2 and not about to start the day at 4:30 unless it's for labor.

Both of my boys have woken up for the day at 4:45 at one time or another. My older did it if we put him down too early when he STTN. My younger has done it when sick or if we have been staying someplace that didn't have black out shades. My kids love waking up early in general!
