It really depends on location and how close you are to the city. Our daycare in an urban neighborhood is $250 a week, but that's the least expensive we've found anywhere near us. The daycare I toured in Midtown by my work was $1500 a month! My brother lives in the suburbs south of Atlanta, and they pay way less than we do in town.

I think the 1:4 ratio is mandated for the infant room, but then it can go up from there as they get older? I know all the ones we toured had 1:4 for infants.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I think the state ratio is 1:6 actually, but most have 1:4.

@Smurfette: that makes me feel a little better. I am surprised DCP rates are higher there than here especially since here all the centers have to have a 1:4 ratio.

As an infant she was in the burbs (OTP) near my work, $1210 a month. The rates for infants near the house (ITP) were $1600ish a month.

We narrowed down our DCP choice and I was surprised at the variance of the monthly rate $185- $305. The one we are going to do a test run with is $285/ week and has cameras to view the LOs remotely. DH is totally that dad that would leave up a live feed all.day.long.

Given the variance between the low and high I wonder what is actually usual in suburban Atlanta. The daycares I checked out near us where we live now were all within $10-15 of each other and for infants were roughly $250.

What did/do you pay on a weekly basis for FT infant care?
