We left at around 3:30/4am after her mid-night feeding. She slept for the first 4 hours or so, which helped us get in a good amount of cruising. One of us rode in the backseat next to her and brought a few new toys (she was just becoming interested in them). She'd last for about two hours, then we'd stop for a diaper change/stretch. We made sure we got out at each mealtime and brought a blanket to put on the table and let her roll around. I was surprised at how well she handled it, to be honest! We'd told ourselves that it was okay to admit defeat and stop overnight along the way if needed, but she was a trooper! He slept for 4 hours in the car! </p> <p>I made sure I had easy access to a small bag with some toys in it (and next time snacks, but he wasn't eating solid food yet). When he was awake we stopped for a couple of minutes every hour or two so that he could get a break from his car seat. It actually went really well! I've also done about 5 hours on my own with the kids a few times.
