I went to Spain with a friend. She was with DH &amp; my MIL. It was really hard and right after the trip I felt like it was too long and I wouldn't leave her for longer than a week again. At the 7 day mark I was missing her so badly it was truly painful and distracted from my trip. But now that time has passed, I'm glad we did the trip the way we did.</p> <p>We did try to FaceTime every day which helped but we weren't always able to and that was hard. About to leave 4 month old DS2 for 2 nights so we can take DS1 camping. Poor second child! I work as a nanny, so I get to bring her to work with me. My husband had to work out of town for 4 days at a time when kiddo was 5 weeks to 9 weeks. The last trip was hard on her. She was over the collective experience of me being on again, off again gone. I'll go for 2 weeks again sometime this fall/winter. He was 14 months old and it was a 13 day business trip for training on the other side of the country. I could not get out of it. It was tough being away for so long as a first trip, but we Skyped every 2-3 days, difficult due to the time difference, and LO's early bed time, but we made it work. </p>
